I suppose the kitchen is considered the heart of the home. Maybe a Mommy's home office would be the brain?

*update* Our basement was flooded in March 2010 and this room is getting a makeover! Can't wait to post some new pics of it!

This view is looking across the Erie Canal in Pittsford toward the newly renovated Pittsford Flour Mill Building which is in the Schoen Place area. First a little history about the building: After being built in 1882, the mill was sold in 1921 and the name was changed from Pittsford Milling Co. to Victor Four Mills. The main accompanying silo was built in 1937 and was part of a cluster of four. After switching hands again in 1951 the building was used as a wheat and bean wholesale operation until 1996 and then it went on the market again. However, by then the old building wasn't in very good shape. Now we move up to 2004, the property was sold again but this time there was a goal of totally renovating the old building into office space. After two years of waiting for approval work began after an agreement was reached with the village in Feb. 2006. The building has indeed been renovated -- it has three floors with a central staircase and an elevator that runs up the middle. Each level has a conference area in addition to large cubicle sections for personal workspace. Windows on the north side of the building overlook the Erie Canal while thiose on the south side of the building look at the back of Schoen place. The next phase is to renovate the silo thats adjacent to the mill.

I only began implementing my GTD system a few months ago. I started by labeling everything with blue masking tape. I cordoned off this area to be my “paper workspace”... I'll give credit for the term to the proper gentleman when I remember who it was, or when I find his blog again ... I found his link on 43folders. It was a great idea to have a space where you can spread, stack, or spit on your paper materials for one single task or project. No mixing, mister.

My sewing desk is the only thing that I usually keep pretty clean. I love facing the window even if my back is to the door.

Here's a pic of my new workspace. The desk is actually huge (although it doesn't look it in the picture.

A part of my little workspace, I modify all kinds of mini RC cars; as Xmod, Mini-z and ofcourse the Race-tin cars :)

My developing workspace, which won't be finished until Xperience is behind us.

Afterwards, bookshelves will be filled, cords will disappear, and hopefully I'll relax a little. Even when we're not "doing" anything, I feel stressed out about it.

Picture taken by Ronier's cell "Lando". Looking good with the apples!

Come hang out with our favorite chlorophyll friend.

Our second bathroom and our private office are back in this hall. The private office is sometimes up for rent but has been rented out for most of our existence.

I've been transforming my office/craft room. These cabinets make a much better work surface than hunching over my desk -- and eventually they'll be painted a more cheerful color.

This is my new workspace (1 of them) in our new house. It will be a few weeks until we get my bench moved and set up, but at least I have a nice large space to work on part of my jewelry!
