Tunstead, limestone from the Peak District

This wet day picture was taken at Derby Works. Looking at the build date of the class 24 and the allocation of the Metro-Vic I think it was taken in early April 1959 the 24 had just been built and was being tested before it went to Hither Green.

D5706 was a Metropolitan Vickers Co-Bo, it was built 05/12/1958 and went new to Derby (17A), that code is stencilled on the front. The loco was withdrawn 07/09/1968 and cut at Cashmore's Great Bridge

D5012 was built at Derby works, 11/04/1959, it was allocated to Crewe (South) but went from Derby to Hither Green 18/04/1959. The loco was withdrawn as 24012, 16/08/1975 and cut at Doncaster Works 29/02/1976.

Lima Locomotive Works Shovel and Crain Division, see the builder's plate, which appears to be actually cast with the frame. Based on preliminary research this is likely a pre-WW2 piece of equipment.

The factory was founded in 1934 for the production of Hydronalium. It operated as magnesite works from 1947 to 1990.

RT 4210 leaving the main entrance of Chiswick Works on 1 March 1979. At this point there were around fifteen RT`s left in passenger service and around double that number still being used for driver training though within weeks the service buses would be gone and within six months most of the trainers would be gone too.

I have almost one hundred pictures for this theme relevant to the inside and outside of 566 Chiswick High Road. They include driver training buses turning in and out of the site and buses in service going past. From within the site there are pictures of training buses, experimental shop buses, special buses, staff buses and other `visiting` buses for various reasons. Enough probably to keep this theme running for three months!

There is an old photo on the Warrington group of this house but the Water works can also be seen in the foreground

whilst I totally understand the economic benefits and employment to the region, the Cement Works still sit uncomfortably in the landscape of the Peak District National Park

The roads in Christchurch are constantly being dug up to replace earthquake damaged pipes. Usually the road is not resurfaced just the whole covered over.

A line up of ex works Brush 47's including what looks to be 47518, nothing in my note books for the date but must be early 1980's ... can anyone out there help?

A view of the often maligned Rugby cement works that dominates the skyline, looming over the town. I've been trying to take a photograph that makes it look more pleasing to the eye. This is the best I've managed.

Diggers just have to have a dig

Newman Brothers at The Coffin Works is a heritage attraction located on the edge of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. This grade II* listed factory and its contents tells the story of Newman Brothers, Birmingham’s last coffin-furniture factory who operated from their Fleet Street premises for over 100 years until 1998 when workers laid down their equipment, and walked out of the building for the very last time, leaving everything, including personal belongings behind.

John Rose established a china factory at Coalport beside the Shropshire canal in 1796, having worked for a time at the Caughley pottery works across the River Severn in Jackfield. Coalport became a major centre for fine quality china during the 1800’s. In its heyday Coalport porcelain won many gold medals and prizes at international exhibitions, including the 1851 Great Exhibition held in the Crystal Palace, Hyde Park. Today the Grade II listed buildings are a significant part of Ironbridge Gorge Museums with a world class display of Caughley and Coalport China. Tripolis. May 2003.

Revisiting some older photos, starting with a trip to Patagonia I took in 2014. This was the expedition where I dropped my brand new Olympus EM-10 the day before we started and had to buy a JPEG point and shoot camera at a local market in Puntas Arenas, Chile. I used the camera the entire trip, which taught me a valuable lesson in being happy with what you have. Walked through a field of cows at the end of a 14 mile hike. This may have been the least spectacular shot, but it seemed appropriate for the season..

Still messing with the stickers, alternative parts and detailing, but this is pretty much the two first kits! Includes: GP Mech, Custom Minifig, custom sticker sheet and interchangeable weapons, Do you have any suggestions for these little guys?

Special shot for #2000 uploaded.

Pushing through town toward the diamond, NS 226's DPUs were a pleasant surprise. On the rear of the train was Ferromex SD70ACe #4019 a very rare visitor.

I headed up to Richmond a couple weekends ago to see Kitty. We headed out to a spot on the Rappahannock river for some fun times and delicious food. After having enjoyed a great day on the water and a dinner with steak, crab, shrimp, and fixings, I brought out some of my light painting gear to show them what it was all about.

A few of them had never seen steel wool in action so I made sure to give them a big spin so they could see what it was all about. This was a couple hours after sunset so I was surprised that I was still able to pick up some of the blue skies in this shot.
