This is a sketch of a new painting I'm working on. I'm going to scan it at various stages of it's completion and make an animation of it's progress.
It's on a new painting surface that I'm trying out. It's wood that has a textured white painting surface. I don't really like it, as I was hoping it would be very absorbent and it's not. It just looks blue in the scan for some reason.
La nuova imponente opera di Giorgio Palli, che sta nascendo nel Parco Tassinari, nel centro di Faenza.
I continued working on this portrait this morning. I am working from a vacation photo of this couple on vacation in Greece, riding a motorbike, and wearing helmets and sunglasses. Today I started by revising the shape of the man's helmet, and continued painting in the woman's helmet. And then worked on the background on the upper part of the canvas. I want the upper boundary of the helmets to seem to disappear into the background. This is true to the photo, where the tops of the helmets seem to fade into the bright sunlight. I also made some minor changes to the woman's face. To be continued. . . .
