First layer of embellishing on the back of the bag

This afternoon, I worked for a while on this project, a still-life done in fabric, like a collage or mosaic with iron-on adhesive. I worked on added some stems and leaves, trying to match leaf shape to petal shape, and trying to make the placement believable. The closer a project is to being finished, the more cautious I become. So now I am working slowly and deliberately, and when I feel myself rushing, pasting something down so I can get finished, then I know it is time to stop working for the day.

The part that forms the strap goes all the way to the lower back and then joins together side by side. This will be a very open backed dress when it's done, with corset style lacing for some adjustable fit.

The first coat is done, but at this point I decide to take down the redundant second curtain rail and then paint the bit of ceiling over the window seat the same colour as the walls.

This is the center panel of the quilt. I hope to get it all pieced together soon--thinking about quilting it myself but it is 98x105!
