WIP - experiment in making a corsage from scraps of furoshiki fabric - needs a button or something in the middle and a ribbon or pin on the back so it can be fixed to a furoshiki bag
I am leading a workshop called "The Book Artist as an explorer" and as a result I have discovered some treasures which have been hidden from view for a while.
I am now inspired to carry on with some work which has been left unfinished for some time
Influenced by the work of Richard Notkin, I ventured out to experiment with a positive statement about music, the instruments that make music, the instrumentalists who put themselves into their instruments in order that we might enjoy what comes out...thus the "Tea" is for Trumpet teapot construction that you see in its leather hard state here. If you have other thoughts about what this teapot says (other than questioning the sanity of the potter), please share.
Most of the carving is complete at this point. There may be a significant amount of surface texturing forthcoming if time allows. This particular stoneware is so rich looking when high fired, I may stick with nothing but stains on the outside.
For other ceramic musical instrument themed pieces, see "M" is for MugPhlute
I really like the 1x1 cables on the sides, but I still can't figure out what the center motif is.

The Outlander Fans group on Ravelry is doing a mystery sock knitalong based on the third book in the series, Voyager. I decided to use this as a good time to conquer my aversion of toe-up socks.
This pattern is knitting up really quickly--so far we're on Clue 3. I'm caught up on sock #1 and I cast on sock #2. I think maybe toe-up isn't so bad after all! Then again, we haven't done the heel yet and that's my least favorite part of toe-up.
Yarn is Cascade Heritage, color 5630, on size US 1 dpns.
A page made out of hand made paper, and hand dyed fabric.
These have been part bleached and have overpainted details.
I hope to illustrate the creative and life cycle with these drawings.

An exciting time if it wasn't for the fact that I'm right up against a deadline.
The provisional title is "Rights granted to women by men"
okay, i know it's not that impressive right now,
but i paint in layers. this is just the first part. really. i promise it will be better.
I say mostly because I'm going to add a border to it, but the blocks have been all sewn together. I'm delighted with the layout and the overall look and blending of all the pastels and jewel like colors and the beautiful pictures in the centers of the blocks.
Here is my next project - a boston terrier named Lily that from her pictures, seems to be a teensy, tiny Boston who likes to smile. Seems to be a precious little baby.
