- 1.5ml dichromate, 1.0 ml gum arabic
- development 30 minutes, ocasional rinse with water & brush.
The Color seemed to cling into paper really well. Unfortunately the result became muddy, my conclusion is too much yellow/blue left in the paper, giving overall Greenish / yellow cast. But it´s a start for future experiments :0)
This is the start of my classy open heart ring.
The ring shank is sterling silver, and the added components are 18 karat yellow gold.
First i will polish the ring like there is no tomorrow and then i will add solder to the back of the 18 karat fire half of heart piece and then fabricate it.... a bit of labor in this one...but its worth it! :)
I don't like the black pieces around the outside. I'm going to have to do squares I think which is going to be a total pain to cut.

torbellamonaca è un quartiere periferico di roma. situato oltre il grande raccordo anulare, il quartiere appare estraneo, più di altri, dalle dinamiche e dalle connessioni con la città . nei suoi palazzi è condensata un'umanità precaria, talvolta illegale, spesso alle soglie della povertà . tra le sue mura, a tratti carcerarie, si aprono varchi che conducono a inaspettati giardini, biblioteche, centri di aggregazione. in uno di questi varchi si è inserito il Laboratorio Museo di Arte Sperimentale de "Gli Amici", supportato dalla Comunità di Sant'Egidio e diretto dalla giovane Maria Carosio. Parte da qui la nostra esplorazione nel quartiere.

A sheet of hand made paper has been stitched on to a rectangle of calico and then wet and rubbed back in places.
I have then added a stitched red graph on top.

I will clean up both pieces spotless and then solder on the 18 karat piece....
lots of patience for clean up is needed.
How long does it take to form. tune, and decorate an ocarina of this size? The answer is probably, "Too long to ever recover the time invested". Ultimately, the additional time to bisque fire, glaze, glaze fire (repeatedly) will put the pricing of higher quality pieces out of reach...which is cause for reflecting upon the question, "Why do you really do this?"
