I am leading a workshop called "The Book Artist as an explorer" and as a result I have discovered some treasures which have been hidden from view for a while.
I am now inspired to carry on with some work which has been left unfinished for some time
This shows some examples of pottery collected on beaches in Shetland
I am in the process of machining a large scale fingerprint which will form part of my latest Women's' Suffrage project.
This measures 6 inches by 5 inches and is on a calico base.
I prefer not to hoop up my fabric, but in this case it was necessary as the circular stitching would have distorted the fabric rather too much.
Was home sick from work all day, and still feeling lousy. The upside is I built some more buildings and additional stuff for the layout.
This isn't a "final scene", I just got bored and wanted to test an idea.

Design is Geisha with Fan (tattoo design) by Kim-Ahn Nguyen Art. From a card I purchased on Etsy: www.etsy.com/listing/54074377/geisha-with-fan-tattoo-desi...; I did get the artist's permission to embroider on the duvet.
That's a 10-inch hoop (for scale). I've only gotten most of her hair done; I've been traveling for work a lot... But I already love her. :)
Whenever I make things in batches, I always line them up neatly! It gives me a real sense of progress as I work down the row adding the next felt shape, etc.
As usual I'm working on an upturned lid (they make such great portable work surfaces). These goldfinch and cherry blossom brooches have been in my "in progress" box for a while, so it's lovely to have them almost finished!
