took me forever to come up with the right size template to make handmade envelopes. i finally got it right, but then i glued several of them shut!

I'm embarking on a new project and for this I need a background.

just discovered i can put these straight into a wall in a hole made with a pin. Would like to make hundreds, a whole wall of them.These are in my studio.

This is the start of my piece for the garden at Westhope College. My Book Arts group contribute to the summer show there and this year we have been asked to decorate a tree with the theme of "portrait"
My piece is constructed from several foreign newspapers, mainly from Poland and Venice. I've layered them and stitched through them in a grid patern.
I then added accents using linen offcuts.
The most important part of the process comes next: a good deal of time is spent rubbing and crumpling the piece to make it shrink and to make the print sink into the surface and thus become indistinct.
The shrunken piece is now about 2 foot in length.
Three out of five layers printed -- still got the blue and the red to do. This is taking an absolute age isn't it? It'd be a lot faster just doing a colour photocopy, you know...

I've been finishing off the edges of the ties on my Political Jewellery book.
Fabric, felt, knitted and plastic beads imprisoned in wire structures.
The Weston Sub is a work in progress, changing day by day. As you can see, the old main has been torn up in certain sections and moved off to the side, the new main to the left is now in service. In a few more months, there will be three main tracks as evidenced from the signal bridge in the back ground.

I was motivated to learn crochet for stress relief. I must say that I'm really enjoying it and can't wait until I'm skilled enough to try to make clothes with it! 😊
