new bowl...i just have to paint it the incoming days...wich i always find it difficult ;)

i will blog it too and write about the "coil process" :).thank you for the visit!

I was given a sheet of magazine scraps which had been applied to a background in a haphazard manner and was asked to use this as a source of inspiration!

I find this sort of challenge VERY difficult as I usually work to an idea, not an image.

After a mild panic I decided to gesso the whole page in an attempt to tone down the images and then I used it to create a folder which I then die cut and embossed.

I then grabbed the scrap bag and started to machine embroider images which started to leap from the page.

This is one sample.

work in progress, feb 14

one day, I will get to this point and say it's done. but for now, I just *need* to add one of my transfers to it.

A present. It is called "Illusions of grandeur" and is a mixed media piece.

Old progress pics of the last stages of Ingenue before molding.

Scraps of monoprint experiments with added pen drawings and stitch

I've been finishing off the edges of the ties on my Political Jewellery book.

Fabric, felt, knitted and plastic beads imprisoned in wire structures.

I made better headway with this one than the other, thank goodness.

The Weston Sub is a work in progress, changing day by day. As you can see, the old main has been torn up in certain sections and moved off to the side, the new main to the left is now in service. In a few more months, there will be three main tracks as evidenced from the signal bridge in the back ground.

I was motivated to learn crochet for stress relief. I must say that I'm really enjoying it and can't wait until I'm skilled enough to try to make clothes with it! 😊

This shows just some of my thread collection.

I recently won an embroidery competition and the prize was £100 worth of threads. Help.

Dessin d'après photo (une fois n'est pas coutume). "Work in progress" en 3 étapes. Horizon et fuyantes placées en premier. personnage et décor des premiers plans. Bar "le Bieristan" à Villeurbanne. Admirez les seize tireuses à bières locales de cette scoop !!! ETAPE 2.

mixing drawing and painting and collage...

Continuing my experiments into the question of identity.

These wrapped figures are only temporarily attached to the canvas: their position in the group can change how the viewer reads their relationship.

Mixed media: brown paper, computer paper, stitch and gesso.

King of a faction I'm working on. He has an outer cape from Royal Brick Customs, over a standard dark blue cape.

Hand made paper which has been stitched on to calico and then wet and rubbed back.

I made a few changes for stability and whatnot. I got a little ahead of myself with the last one, this one should be a much better baseline for my build style.

Now to make a head and get cracking on the armor and details.

A few of the pieces I'm working on at the moment. They are waiting for the resin to be inlayed, hoping to get them done over the next day or two.
