The strips are computer printed tissue bonded on to fabric which is then rolled and machine stitched. The circles are calico which has been painted with a metal effect paint.
This is too heavy for the scale but could be developed further
on a collaged newspaper background.

Ok, here I go planning another monstosity for Brickvention in January, which my girlfriend gets to keep after-would, she has to help build it though, that's the deal :) I love the TLG colour scheme for their Rivendell set so I'll be stealing/paying homage to that. I plan to have two large cliffs on either side to give a small sense of scale of the ravine. At the moment I'm just playing with some building shapes while I wait for more parts. Dave Kaleta's version, which I'm happy to say I got to see and fondle in real life at BrickCon '11, is a big inspiration for this.

Just a little update pic. Still not done but getting there. The shawl/arm ribbon seems a bit thick after I hemmed it but I have no other option right now :/. Still looks good I think.
