I grabbed stashed and recycled papers, envelopes and other ephemera to fill up the book. Since the binding clips open and close, I can always move things around, flip pages or add new materials.

This will be the back. After it's quilted I'll applique on these robot pieces and the piece I embroidered, and I'll embroider a little chain from the robot hands to the sign.
How long does it take to form. tune, and decorate an ocarina of this size? The answer is probably, "Too long to ever recover the time invested". Ultimately, the additional time to bisque fire, glaze, glaze fire (repeatedly) will put the pricing of higher quality pieces out of reach...which is cause for reflecting upon the question, "Why do you really do this?"
just a little fun eye spy quilt i am making up for my son. I wanted tp practice my peiceing/quilitng so I figured I can make mistakes on one for my son! :P
I needed a break from a larger project, so I started on this little piece (6"x6"). I begin with white, sorting out my brights and giving a foundation that makes it easier to work with yellows on black paper. Most of the yellows tend to be terribly transparent, and need a little help.
As for composition, I changed it a little from the photo I took. I shifted the horizon line so it didn't run right into the edge of the cut pomegranate. More later!
