on my way to work

Feet shoulder width apart, knees slightly bent, lean in, make lots of eye contact, and keep your hands up and open. NOW you are ready to communicate!

A long day at work, so I walked over to Red Butte Garden. I only had my little point-and-shoot with me, so nothing photographically breath-taking, but it was a nice day, and someplace I'll have to revisit with a better camera and more time.

The train was coming... they ducked out of sight at the last minute.

Mostly out of focus [I like my clippings though, Nat'l Geographic]

Flying the flag for Portugal during the Euro 2004 football tournament.

This is the result of the third photo task during my visit to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary yesterday. Goal, to photograph kangaroos drinking from under the water, using the little waterproof DMC-FT3.

The task was especially difficult yesterday. Being a hot day, meant that several ducks decided to swim in the kangaroos drinking water. Result - very dirty water which made a tough task for the little camera which seemed to focus on the floating debris instead of the kangaroo.

Not being able to see through the view finder means composition in guess work.

Kym Michelle & I.. I had her laughing her ass off all night, its just to bloody easy! When I'm around her, i am the funniest bloody person in the room! & everyone else knows it... cause Kyms laugh is loud! & I mean LOUD. Girlfriend is a trained opera singer!

of doing work in my motor home when it was all new and pretty exciting! 2015. I gave up my apartment in Livingston, MT to go to NYC to take classes and to attend a writer's conference.

I started out in a camper van but I discovered, upon my return to MT, that there was no place to live! This is a phenomena happening in many places around the country where there is a tourist draw - even were I am currently (finally) putting down roots. Rental properties are bought up and turned into vacation rentals. The appeal of Livingston is that it is an hour north of Yellowstone NP.

That is how I ended up spending four winters in southern Utah where I traded my van for a class C motor home. My permanent residence in the motor home will be coming to an end (thankfully!!!) in a few weeks.

All if have to say, is that I have learned a lot in the past five years.

A bright start to the day and an opportunity to shoot my place of work from outside in the sunshine before I started work. Sadly the sunshine wasn’t to last.

Basement of old ranch house in Eastern Tulare County. They are citrus farmers, first orange trees planted on this ranch in 1888.

My supervisor wanted to move a couple of people around (so that we were all sitting together), so he asked our facilities department for a couple of empty cubes. One of them turned out to have windows. It's also larger than normal.

He decided to move me into that cube and move someone else into the cube I had been in for the past three years. This happened during the last week of January, so I got to watch the February 12 snow right from my desk.

I'm still getting used to things but I've decided I do enjoy it. The only problem? It's an end cube and not as enclosed as other cubes. That means I can't get away with much anymore...
