The Union Pacific heritage of this leased Illinois Railway locomotive is evident as it sits at the quarry at Spring Valley, IL, with a couple hoppers for ballast for use on its LaSalle-Zearing line. A former BN caboose is at the rear of the train.
Not everybody works on the weekend. The good doctor Ewa should have known better, but what the heck, she's busy. She thought Saturday was the day for the letter J as well, so she chose "Job" as her theme for "We're Here!". Alas, eventhough I am on call this weekend and at the hospital, I was still stumped.
I do not carry a camera to work. There is just to much potential for misunderstanding and the accusation of privacy violations. My camera stays at home or the studio. But I did not want to miss out on evaxebra's day, so I used an Olympus GIF-XQ 140 to capture the four images I am holding underneath the lights of the studio. The gastroscope images were easy. The real trick was to hold the print just right so it would place a catchlight into my eyes from the overhead strobe.

I start work again today. Not really looking forward to it, but I know I will feel better once I am there.
The StreetScooter Work is an electric van developed and produced by Deutsche Post. These vans are built in Aachen, so these ones are probably brand new, just coming from the factory.
Been off work for 20 weeks due to shoulder surgery back in January. Been hell, hell, hell & more hell, so so so glad to get back to the grindstone. :-))))))))))))))))))))
This is a picture of a group of fishermen pulling the net out of the sea. They do this every other day, sell their catch and make a living out of it. A harsh put perfect sunrise made this picture special. Also I have moved from Lightroom to PS and like the transition so far.
This picture was taken at Elliots Beach, Besant Nagar - Chennai at around 6.30am.

day 51 : 02.23.09
today after work, a coworker and i headed over to the site of our new downtown arena to grab a more current shot of the progress for a brochure we're working on. if you can't tell, that's it over on the right. luckily the oncoming darkness provided a bit of a cover-up for all the random construction materials in this particular shot... however, i found all sorts of cool things i want to take photos of for personal use. i'll be heading back over there sometime soon, i'm sure. ;)
it seemed awfuly cruel to put the dogs & cat outside
this morning when i left for work.
they were all hunkered down in the woodshed
when i came back home
quickly resuming their positions,
at the woodstove,
warming their bones.
