I was golfing today and thankfully managed my round just before the rain and when I got home my wife advised that we had a visitor - an overnight visitor! This was Lewis shortly after I got home "hard at work" building something with his Lego!

“Can anything be sadder than work left unfinished? Yes, work never begun.”

―Christina Rossetti

This is one of many jewelry projects filling a desk in my workroom. My hobby for 14 years, I had to quit after a wrist fracture. By the time I was able to handle the fine motor control again, I had moved onto photography. I keep thinking I might do both, but the camera always wins!

One of the positive blocks in a nine block positive/negative repeat. I took this mainly so that if the cat or other family member brushed past and knocked a few pieces off, I'd have a visual record to get things back in order quickly as I piece. Since we've moved I have no studio and must work in shared space. . .harumph! Fabric addicts can see a bit of what's in my stash in these colorways. Do you see any of your fabrics here?

I've been wanting to build a steed for a little while now, here's what I have so far! The legs, head and rider are pretty much finished, but the body needs some more work. It's got some similarities to my previous MoC Mayazakt: www.flickr.com/photos/129809225@N03/15757488649/

This is a page from 'Unwind in the Wilds' illustrated by Sarah Taylor and produced by 'Derwent Colour and Relax'.

I bought the book as a promo pack complete with ten Derwent Coloursoft pencils at quite a low price. The offer price seems to have gone up £4 since I bought it!

The book comes with instructions, a colour wheel and a couple of completed coloured in pages.Seemingly ideal for beginners and youngsters but perhaps isn't everyone's cup of tea.

So far I have given the bird its first coating but it now needs at least another one over the top.

I honestly can't work out what leaves, flowers or buds are growing from the branch.Jan says just start and see what develops. Keeping to the ten Coloursoft pencils makes it more of a challenge.

If I do finish it I'll attempt to put it on Flickr in due course.

Track work along the Union Pacific line.

Arts Alive Chalk Paintings are judged at 3 this afternoon. This sweet 16 year old wanted to leave her Edward Scissorhands and play with Benni. Several of the artists stopped work to get handshakes and high fives from Benni who knew not to step inside the blue outlined grids.

A few images taken around the Wah Fu Public Housing Estate comprising of 9,100 flats along 18 residential blocks built in 1965-70. By the early 1980s it approached the size of a small town, housing 54,000 people.

Part of my 'Dense Living' series inspired by the work of Michael Wolf; which tries to give an impression of the high density residential accommodation that typifies the city.
