Words like bullets

we throw on each other

hoping, naively,

that they'd miss the target.

But they do not .

The last in a short series I shot on Saturday. The words reflect where I am emotionally. It’s going to be a very long four years.

Sobran las palabras

by was the word over at words to shoot by this week.

These shots were taken in Northern Cali. at Hidden Beach.

a friend gave me this lovely pocket mirror with wilde's classic quote. i put the mirror in my purse and completely forgot about it.

yesterday, on my walk home from work (after a long day and a long week), i found this treasure while looking for something else. and i smiled at the serendipity: a found mantra, right when i needed it.

this saying has many meanings. for me, this week, i pressed too hard--tried to be the best teacher ever and a social director and a counselor. really, all i needed to be was myself; when that happens, everything else falls into place. the more me i am (really me, not ego me), the more genuine, helpful, and kind are my interactions.

(now you: mantra)

It may or may not be a surprise to you, but I didn't expect to see so many hidden "Five Dollars" words in a $5 USD bill. I thought they were just patterns in the border. =D

I think the actual font size is less or around 1/10th of a millimeter. =D

Words have no wings but they can fly a thousand miles.

Valentine card section at the supermarket.

I went to the local Christmas market today around noon, mainly because I was in the area anyway and thought I could just as well have lunch there. That done I walked around and looked for something I could use for a photo challenge proposed by my Flickr frĂend Kerri, the theme is 'words'. I finally opted for this one. The photo itself may not be very inspired but 'GlĂĽhwein' is a very important word on German Christmas markets. It means mulled wine. An no, I didn't drink any, I very rarely drink alcohol, even more rarely during the day and never when I have to drive. Instead I had a coffee. As I needed something warm on this cold day I had a coffee instead. :)

More Words.

I'm gonna start up a #ForgottenFriday tag, or a #ThrowbackThursday tag or a #SeriouslyHowOldIsThisSaturday tag.

This is from my time in the U.S, which I still think of fondly. Why is the word "fondly" sounding gross? O_o

This beaut of a girl is Chelsey, who kindly sat on an abandoned factory floor, with people kicking up dust all around her, for this shot. Thanks Chelsey! :)

Sometimes when artists work, their words gain greater meaning than, for example, when you read them in a newspaper. This work decorates the wall of the excellent Oklahoma cafe/store/vinyl record shop in Manchester.

Thanks a lot for your visits, comments, faves, invites, etc ... Always very much appreciated !

Or something. I have no idea.

Words Unspoken

by moeknows

If I could take all these words

left unspoken for so long

And put them in a song,

I can only imagine

how wrong it would sound.

See, thoughts this profound

can't be confined in sonic properties

So, I offer these insufficient phrases

instead of what I should have said

still leaving those words unspoken

knowing your heart was broke when

I remained silent

but sometimes I violently

try to eject what I feel

and what I spill

is something altogether different

distant from what I was intending,

ending in turmoil what was conceived in love

and above it all

is this pain,

That's felt when words fall

from the tip of my tongue

never having the chance to fly

why must this happen at all the worst times

like the first time

I gazed into those deep blue eyes

and realized

that this

was the beginning of a forever

that I never dreamed

I could've screamed

but throat closed up

choking the words that rose up

so unspoken they remained

but I was for ever changed

as I began to die

so, WE could begin to live

what I wouldn't give

to be able to tell you

what I felt at that very moment

that scary moment

when everything was so right that it almost seemed wrong

You can't put that in a song

Because it belongs in a soul

and no melody ever played

could portray the way

that loving you

sticks to my insides

or how the tides of emotion

swell like the ocean

but quell at the notion of spilling

through words unfulfilling

and all feelings aside

I tried and try

Because I still believe

That with you by my side

I'd write volumes of poetry too deep for any book

If it took a million words

with a million tears

for a million years

I'd sit right here

And tell it

I'd yell it

from the top of my lungs

down to the bottom of my

very

last

breath

Till I knew

there wasn't one

single

word

left...

unspoken

Day 142

PRESS L

Another walk at Waterloo before work. I'm pretty sure I take this same shot almost every time I go there. I forget now why I shot this one with my cell phone... maybe it was the morning that I got there only to find that there was no memory card in the camera... or the day that I left my zoom lens on and wanted the wide angle ... or maybe the battery died.... Lord knows, I've done them all.

Thinking this morning about the words that you DON'T want to hear when you arrive at work.

#1 has to be.... "Oh thank God... we're so glad you're here!" that is almost always followed by being told something that makes you really, really wish that you were NOT there!

#2 "We have a special project for you today." Special projects are generally anything but special.

#3. "I'm going to test your memory" or "Do you remember why you did.... " Oh God NO!! I don't remember... I never remember ... and then I spend the rest of the day trying to remember... or wondering WHY I never remember. Both are not good.

#4. " (insert the name of any co-worker here___) just called out, can you stay later and cover their shift?" Ugh.... is there EVER a time when you want to work more hours than you already have to work....? No.... there is not!!

#5 "The district manager just called...and...." The rest of this sentence always involves work that you now have to do that makes absolutely no sense at all.... key words being... that you HAVE to do it anyway. Ugh.

You probably have a few of your own.... don't you?! ; )

Today was a good day. Actually Monday is my favorite day of the week... and they left me alone... and didn't ask me any questions or make me do anything ridiculous. Yup, it was good! YEY!

I think I need a vacation. It's been a really really long time.... like over 2 years.... about the same length of time since I last saw a raise. I work in a place where no one ever gets a raise.... that's a story for another day.......

I see these words almost everyday and I finally captured them with my camera. Permission was granted as long as I didn't take photos of people inside.

Smile on saturday happy words
