I wonder if the sap is stirring yet,
If wintry birds are dreaming of a mate,
If frozen snowdrops feel as yet the sun
And crocus fires are kindling one by one:
Sing, robin, sing!
I still am sore in doubt concerning Spring.

RBMN YJPI runs back from Crestwood with 1 car. Once they get into Pittston they pick up their load and add 2004 to the rear and shove 11 cars (14 after they work Mariotti) to Taylor Yard.
Still continuing my color journey, again farther away than last time. I see that slowing down is even more important with Ektar, since tending to see things in B&W gives a latitude of what to ignore, if that makes any sense. But it's a great exercise to observe once again. Thanks to those flickeranians who continue to inspire!
This is the dried stump of the petiole of the edible "Elephant Yam" (Amorphophallus paeoniifolius) sitting on a black log and looking up in wonder. :D
Green Point
Gros Morne National Park
From Wikipedia; In 2000, the cliffs at Green Point were approved as the Global Stratotype Section and Point for the base of the Ordovician system by the International Union of Geological Sciences. The boundary is a section 60m thick composed of layers of shale and limestone with overturned beds dipping 60-70 degrees to the South East. It is marked by the first appearance of Iapetognathus fluctivagus, a conodont fossil, 4.8m below the earliest known planktic graptolite fossil, Rhabdinopora praeparabola.[2]
The shales represent a 30 million year record of deep-ocean sediments laid in a base-of-slope environment in the Iapetus Ocean. The limestone layers indicate periodic avalanches from the shallower waters. Portions of the same limestone avalanches that came to rest further up the coastal slopes are featured at Cow Head. There, the individual rocks in the limestone conglomerate are much larger.[3]
Experimenting with colored lights, white lights and a gelled flash today. I have the sides of the bubble blocked with black cards to help define the shape. I'll share the bts on my Instagram story.

"Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering, 'It will be happier.'" - Alfred Lord Tennyson
-----
For the first day of 2017, we were gifted sunshine and mild temperatures.
I caught up with Dawn this morning as she was pushing snow away from her car, she was frazzled and stressed and I sensed she could use a moment to step out of the city and into a world where magic seems real.
So I told her to dress her daughter for an adventure outside and led them to my happy place.
For an hour today, she let the stresses of her busy life fade away and just enjoyed her youngest daughter's wonderment with the birds who know no fear and was lifted by that feeling that anything is possible.
Once in a while, it's best to step out of the everyday and enter the enchanted.
Hope everyone has had a good start to the new year!

Don't be so familiar and so much into the details. Keep people dreaming. Close the window, and make them wonder.
