Items on a windowsill in St Olaves church. The thin delicate looking leaded glass set in thick strong stone window frames, seems like a contradiction. Brass items whose purpose is not immediately obvious, polished so many times. An assuredly quite place where nobody interrupts, no questions about the camera, in fact usually nobody there. A haven of solitude from the traffic outside.

I was looking for a bigger house and I have found this nice one :-))

Koala measures 2 1/2 inches wide and 2 1/4 inches tall.

Souvenir gift from neighbors who traveled "down under" last year.

This is a small vintage window in our garage and this is where I store seeds to dry. It's a sunny place.

There are also the skeletalls of a bug and a spider :)

This is 2 inch wide.

Happy Macro Monday.

A small cactus in a pot on my windowsill is blooming again.

The largest flowers are 12mm (12ins) diameter.

Macro Mondays - Windowsill - 4/27/20

Yes I am...

This is an African Violet I used to have.

Fair warning...I am only going to post old flower pics for the foreseeable future. Absolutely no photo ops here. Thick cloud cover every day for weeks now. The only reason I pick up a camera lately is to see if any purple finches, redpolls or siskens might be coming to the feeders. So far, nope. Saw one purple finch a month ago.

So, I miss flickr, and these days if we turn up missing for too long people start to worry. Also, I have no flowers blooming on my windowsills and I need some flowers in my life right now.

Two of my favorite Hemerocallis. From my garden. Taken in early afternoon sunlight on my windowsill.

An assortment of flowers cut for the kitchen windowsill.

Spyder hold up indoors, catnapping in the windowsill retreat during dreary winter weather.

This is a succulent bloom. The little plant died back some while ago and then from the debris a long straggling shoot appeared from which several flowers have emerged, this being the latest. The bloom measures 15mm at its largest. It sits on the kitchen windowsill.

Fresh fruit from my garden - one of the great joys of June-July.

A view of the glass box sitting in its place on the bathroom windowsill.

needed something to brighten up my kitchen windowsill. Got these cute Johnnie Ryan pop bottles the other day at the grocery store.

Made explore #77!!

The bears really love sitting on the window sill.

Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday

I love assembling collections, both real and otherwise,

from nature, friends, beach walks, and assorted containers.

The small glass jar in the center had fallen, crackled and was being held together with poured acrylic over seashells. Although the grape hyacinths are artificial, I love having them in bloom all year long! I've tried to include a more focused view of the engraved "LOVE IS" lettering on the rock, but haven't succeeded too well in maintaining a balance in the composition.

However, I adore these elements all sharing a windowsill in my zen room overlooking our gardens and a small yellow birdhouse in the right which has had many visits from our Carolina wrens.

The yellow heart rock and the *LOVE IS* stone are both from my dear friend, Jonathon, who is all heart!

We don't have any windowsills in our apartment, but do have a small table up by the patio doors in our main room, so I used that instead.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.

Sept. 25, and bright morning sun lights up the glass of marbles on the front windowsill.

All I want for Christmas is catnip...I already have my two front teeth...aka fangs.

THEME: WINDOWSILL

SUBJECT: A ROSE

Digitally hand-painted [because it's cold outside and that must mean painting season has arrived]. Same windowsill as yesterday.

My husband planted some ranunculus corms this year (should it be ranunculi?). This first bloomer is pure white and has fewer petals than I'm used to seeing, so it is a new variety for me. Still very pretty and picked up some nice shadows on a south facing windowsill. Happy solstice - hoping we tilt toward better times as we move to seasonal change.
