Can't wait to start writing some custom apps for it. I've got the SDK for Windows Mobile 5.0. I also have a Z-Wave home automation kit on the way so I've just got to get the two to talk to each other.

I find the keypad easy to use except for the Call/Hangup buttons that are far to close to the other buttons and too similar in feel. The thumb wheel on the right side is great, and there is a back button over there too, but it needs an ok/enter button in that spot--Minor nitpicks. I love how quick it is--both the phone and the 3G data connection.

[Edit: It does have an enter button on the right side: just press the thumb wheel! On mine, it's a little hard to press so it wasn't obvious... Of course I should RTM. :) ]

Gmail is still a hassle. Google's Gmail Java app won't run yet. It keeps asking for data network access but doesn't get anywhere. Fortunately, there are enough people on the web complaining about this that it should get fixed soon. And then Gmail's POP access still wont work right, but I'm pretty sure that's Google, not the phone. Either I get no messages or 2000+ when I use ' recent' mode because I'm on a bunch of mailing lists. Argg.
