So plain but then the curled fastener just made a shot.
I had to have strong words with the built in meter to say what I wanted, shadow detail I shouted, took no notice and went manual.

In case you're wondering there is minimal Photoshop trickery. I used a flash and a polariser to get th clouds fluffy

This hotel in Bilbao loves playing with colours. BTW, why everybody always goes to Barcelona looking for architectural landscapes? Bilbao has really a lot to offer

I annoyed the woman seated beside me yesterday on the flight from Orlando to Atlanta. I kept fidgeting with my luggage, removing my camera again and again, because the cloudscapes out the window kept getting more and more beautiful.
"Do you do this professionally?" she asked.
"No. It's just a hobby."
"Do you just take pictures of... clouds?" she asked.

Peeking through the windows of an abandoned house is like stealing a glimpse into a life once lived.
I was really hoping to capture more detail of some old photographs that were curling and fading on top of a bookshelf just inside the windowpane. Unfortunately, using a medium format camera is a challenge when the subject is elevated, as you have to get up even higher to be able to look down through the viewfinder. I did actually climb up on the outside air conditioner unit, but you can see from the images below that this still wasn't quite enough height. Good fun though.
