yes these are nice curtains. The shoji screens in the windows offer light diffusion and privacy.

Totally unique, these curtains were designed to capture movement and light in their repeating folds. Constructed by hand from over 100 yards of extra wide fabric, these particular works of art took over 2 weeks to sew together. These epitomize our fanatical approach to simplicity; to construct furnishings that look effortless, yet simply cannot exist without the thousands of hours of experience that tempers this craft.

These are a set of "acoustic" curtains we designed for a home in Vancouver. The room is used as a media room and this particular curtain was designed to block sound from travelling to other parts of the house. The curtain itself weighs close to 120lbs, is made from four layers of HEAVY cloth, including a layer of padding and a layer of latex. and spans over 13' with a height of around 9'

The track was custom bent to contour around the room and allow the curtain to dock on one wall. Fabric from Natasha Marshall... one of our fave designers.

These curtains are entirely hand made.

You can see the way we matched the pattern to follow the pattern of the ripplefold style, this was done by custom making a snap tape to follow the pattern of the cloth. These small details are what set our curtains apart from everyone else's.

We employ a method of backwards engineering on all of our projects, starting first by visualizing the end result and working our way right back to the installation and hanging of the track, right back to the cutting of the cloth.

Yes very nice, made from linen.

This view shows you how huge the curtain was. The 5.5" custom ripple header gives depth and rhythm tot he curtain. Note how perfectly straight the seamline is!

they're still there..

Here is a finished picture of the Living room built in seating. the ultra sleek look was acheived by contour cutting the foam and upholstering the 8 individual cushions separately. the entire assembly is held on to the frame by Velcro.

Here is a detail of the silk and linen together. the colours were selected to be very close to one another so they would blend together nicely. you can see the texture of both cloths are very different. this has the effect of giving the linen a more luxe quality while at the same time giving a far more relaxed feel to the silk.

Since its debut in 1946, the Miramar Hotel had perched atop a rocky point in Vina del Mar, Chile, with spectacular views over an emerald ocean. But after weathering 40 years of pounding seas, the building's structure had been damaged beyond repair. Faced with a total rebuild, developers Penta selected Alemparte Barreda architects to help create a new jewel - the Sheraton Miramar Hotel and Convention Center - to fit this stunning setting.

The interiors - with 142 rooms, two convention halls, a restaurant, a spa, three pools, and a gym - had to meet the strict standards of Sheraton hotels. Designer Enrique Concha created an environment featuring luxurious furnishings and finishes in white, turquoise, silver, and green, which reinforces the hotel's marine palette. The design features many elements from Chilean sources, including an extensive collection of sculpture and paintings by native artists. Translucent roller shades by Hunter Douglas protect the artwork from fading and UV damage, while also shielding guests from glare.

Next to the location, the hotel's basic structural shape represents its most distinctive influence. The architects wanted every guest room to have a view of the sea, and thus created a huge, convex glass arc pushing out toward the ocean. It was like "a huge ship that is anchored to the rock," about to put to sea, said principal Yves Besancon.

Overall, the pairing of elegant interiors with sleek exteriors offers a compelling reinvention of the hotel. Horacio Pena, director of Penta, cites influences from the old hotel's Art Deco style, which are blended with "modernist concepts" and the mixture of glass and aluminum." It's a result he calls "a veritable sculpture." At the least, it's a gem of hospitality.
