Another from the same night as my previous photo. This was slightly later with a wider angle. Taken at Rhossili Bay in South Wales.
Stopped by at the Golden Pavillon on the way home, trying to get some depth of the scenery by using the 50mm wide open.
Kyoto gardens look best after the rain. Those colours!

Ultra-wide angle optics are great for portraying scenes in a different perspective. Here is a quick hand-held shot I took of the Wave at 11mm. The wide angle really accentuates the curvature of the stripes and draws the viewers eye deep into the image.

1st time I've done this with any real intent; It made sense here to follow the water 😀HSoS😀
Here is some of the last captures taken of the Grand Tetons as we left the park heading towards Yellowstone.
I captured this with the 17mm lens while taking the BULB captures with the 10mm lens (see below in the comments). This is a stitch of about 5 shots taken with the 17mm showing the clouds in their stationary formation that day. Very pretty looking like this, and then again very nice as shown below in the comments with the exposures that lasted several minutes.
I promised to send a postcard to Marjorie, so what could be better than a beautiful late Hebridean smile of a sunset. Wide lovely eyes is by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. I was just lucky a thin band of cloud turned up at the last minute.
An old shot that I have hesitated posting until now. Taken at Holme Fen, Cambridgeshire.
I'm never sure that portrait crops or wide angles really work on Flickr (probably why I post so many close-ups), but I thought I would post as I am growing fonder of these wider shots giving a bit of context to the species.
A wide shot of the greater Orion and Taurus regions captured on 12/4/21 with a Nikon D750 and Nikon 14-24mm @ 24mm. Exposure settings were f/5, ISO 1600, 5' x 9.

One of the lovely little houses that I stayed in during my most recent exploration of Japan. My goal on that trip was to head out of the big cities and really get to know the normal day to day life of the wider country and it was an awesome experience.
A wider angle shot overlooking the Cornish coastline at the old mining area of Botallack. The usual vantage point is being used by another photographer......most inconsiderate!!!

A double exposure experimenting with a new lens, the ultra wide Rokinon 12mm F2. This is the first time I've had something this wide before. I can't wait to get in the mountains with this thing.

I'll be posting more images from my time with the Otter and Heron, but for now here's two very contrasting images of a female Kingfisher...
This time a wide angle image showing the Kingfisher's habitat. Anyone who has been following my photography will know I really like images like this that show the environment, as I think it tells more of a story of the subject. Portrait images with blurred backgrounds still very much have their place, but in combination it builds a varied portfolio. In my eyes at least!
This image was taken remotely using a CamRanger - I was able to control the focus and settings from a hide using my iPad.
Located in the State of Arizona, the Painted Desert, wedged between Petrified Forest National Park, and the Grand Canyon, offers fantastic wide open spaces to view and relish.
