Athabasca Falls is a waterfall in Jasper National Park on the upper Athabasca River, approximately 30 kilometres south of the townsite of Jasper, Alberta, Canada, and just west of the Icefields Parkway.
When you put things in other perspective it can be fascinating what it brings. Can you figure it out?
“Ben Venue” (2392ft) may be small in stature but it is a mountain of real character the finest in the Trossachs when seen across Loch Achray. The ascent is a great walk with both boggy and rocky ground higher up, and stunning views from the summit over Loch Katrine and Loch Venachar. Sitting right at the bottom of the mountain if you look closely is the“Loch Achray Hotel” owned by Lochs and Glens Holidays and it makes a great base to explore all that the Trossachs area of Scotland has to offer.

The shifting sandbanks often create these slowly emptying pools as the tide goes out on the beach at Barassie. I captured this handheld at arms length with some much practiced blind aiming.

Nature has endowed the relief of this vast rock formation with incredible colors. In Spanish, the Valle del Arcoiris means "Valley of the Rainbow", a name worthy of this grandiose landscape of red, white, yellow and brown cliffs standing out against the blue sky. This emblematic site of San Pedro de Atacama attracts visitors from all over the world to admire its splendid colors.
The present church was built after the fire of 1844. It exhibits a neoclassical construction, decorated with one of the largest organ in South America, a large lamp of Sevillian origin, a French neo-Gothic pulpit, Carrara marbles and wood carving. It is also one of the 70 churches in the world authorized to display the banner of the Vatican.
A different vantage spot of this treacherous gorge. Most of my shots were spoiled by copious mist spots on my lens but this spot was far enough back that it wasn't a total shower. I want to go back in summer to see if that pesky snow at the bottom will ever melt. It almost ate me alive when I was down there.
