Bunch of signs, Pont Neuf, Paris

A horizontal surface of broken rock slabs used as paving stones, framed (bounded) by bricks. Some of the slabs are very rusty (oxidized), a sign of iron content in the minerals making up the rocks. Part of a courtyard-park area next to a school in the Inglewood area of southeast Calgary.

In the east part of the Beltline area (Victoria Park), close to downtown Calgary.

I used to call these "condo towers," but in recent years there has been a depressed or reduced market in Calgary for the buying of condo apartments, and many builders/owners have switched to old-fashioned monthly rentals or yearly leases in order to fill the suites in the buildings. (Office buildings are having similar trouble: approx. 30% vacancy rate downtown. These troubles are the result of a local economic recession caused by recent years of low oil prices in a city that is the headquarters of the Canadian petroleum industry.)

a quick scan off of the first test roll on the soon-to-mine Hasselblad SWC. I was a bit nervous about the range focusing on these, because i like images to be sharp... but every frame I shot the focus was exactly where I was hopping! the deep DOF really helps with that. I can't wait to travel with this camera!

.

The radome at the top of the Wasserkuppe (950 m) is a relic of the Cold War. We are located here less than 10 km from the former "Iron Curtain." NATO allies have agreed for decades: if the Warsaw Pact attempts to attack NATO (there are demonstrable strategies on both sides), it will happen right here, at the so-called "Fulda Gap."
