This is a wider view of the one I uploaded yesterday of Jet Skis on the Brisbane River. The high rise buildings along this stretch of Eagle Street could be called the financial end of town while along to the right, just before the Story Bridge which is out of sight, they are residential towers.
Work on the total revamp of the Eagle Street pier precinct is underway on the lower left. What I really wanted to point out here were the two light coloured and lower multi story buildings at the 11 o'clock position to the yellow buoy in the river. When I was in high school in the late 60's, these were regarded as exceptionally tall back then and my Dad, as a businessman customer of an insurance group who occupied the left one of the two invited him for an inspection. Of course in those distance days we were awed by the height of that building!
The Riverside Centre which is the one behind the blue crane received a Queensland Heritage listing in 2023 - refer previous shot.

*Patagonia Series
Most of the pictures of this Series were taken from a large distance, because everything in Patagonia is huge and wide open. Sometimes it was not really easy to get closer and I had to zoom in as much as possible. I had a wide angle lens. Anyway, these are unforgettable memories.

Reaching up to touch the skies
That spread wide before my eyes
As i look up and i stare
At the branches. so very bare
That spread wide under the skies
Placing beauty into all eyes

Always an instruction I associate with my dentist. In fact for many years my dentist had photos on his surgery ceiling of various animals with their mouths wide open and the statement 'Open Wide' written on the adjacent ceiling. That was a clear instruction for all.
Nature is taking over this beautiful old homestead just outside Burra, South Australia. It’s in better condition than most and even has that wonderful wide verandah as we would call them in Queensland. I hope it gets another chance at life.

A wonderful symphony of colour, light and bokeh rendering from the classic Pentacon lens. Image taken on a Canon EOS 5D Mark 3 DSLR coupled to a vintage German M42 Pentacon M42 30/3.5 lens with a 9mm M42 extension tube attached. A third party M42 to EOS adapter incorporated. Image shot wide-open and hand-held, with a touch of fill-flash. Apart from RAW conversion and the most basic of editing, image shot as is.
I love my Pentacon.
It's fall in Minnesota and this young woman was enjoying the view of Lake Superior from the top of the Lutsen Mountain ski hill.

Living in the city makes me forget how open Tx can be even around the suburban areas as it waits for more development.
