Ahh the Holidays, the one time of the year when I don't count calories and just enjoy the sugar bounty!
My entry for #WhyNot, Flickr Friday's theme for the week of Dec. 25 2020 - Jan 1st 2021
"Well I see you there with the rose in your teeth,
One more thin gypsy thief—"
Yes, another Cohen reference. That makes two this month. Pure coincidence, I swear.
This started out as me goofing around during an entirely different shot, but I liked the way the silliness turned out, so I changed my shirt and started shooting (a little) more seriously.

I saw it a couple of years ago, stopped and got a photo. No great personal meaning or artistic value. It was just an impulsive photo taken to see how it would look. I forgot about it until I found it a little while ago. So here it is.
Here's a throwback for your Thursday. Almost a year ago to the day was an unexpected turn of events that I was fortunate to be able to document. CP 7016, one of Canadian Pacific's Block Letter Heritage Units, leads GEVOs from KCSM and KCS on a military train bound for CSX in Montgomery, AL over Meridian and Bigbee trackage. In December of that year, CPKC would begin operations from Meridian, MS to Myrtlewood, AL while CSX would resume operations of their trackage form Myrtlewood to Burkville, AL. This image was taken in Whynot, MS (cause why not?) as the train rolled over former Meridian and Bigbee rails.
For those interested, I have a YouTube video that will premiere at 6 PM CT on my channel that covers the operations before, during, and after the transition from G&W to CPKC and CSX. Here is the link: youtu.be/RPW2wpQ4jHI
Thanks for looking!
Out for a drive, and came across this lovely property just across from the river. Way above my means, but Why Not take a look inside?
