It's fall...almost winter. How about a throw back to Spring? Why not... Enjoy!

Um-ber-ella plant again. Glowing a tad, too. It's like the light builds inside the bud until it must burst and spew itself forth. Should have been a poet, yes? A fine word, spew.

Here dino! Here girl!

Seasons greetings from Newton Stewart! One of our neighbours, Janis, treated us to her rendition of ‘Santa’s a Scotsman.’ She tells me it was often played by Ken Bruce. She had forgotten some of the words so had to get them on her mobile! It was superb! A socially distanced drink and Christmas cake was enjoyed outside by all.

Lights: Vincent Gerber & me

This one is an ode to the "why not?" method. After multiples fun ones with different colours, Vincent Gerber has suggested to try one with the bare white lights.

Even if my initial reaction was a "Meh" (Dan Whitaker style) -as a colours-addicted junkie, I was convinced it would be "flat" and lacking contrasts-, my mindset moved to "Well, why not ? We have nothing to lose at trying".

We've tried and oh my... I was so wrong! I should never ever presume the result before trying

Sure, it does not have the usual colourful light painting esthetics -even if it's light painting (long exposure, moving light sources, walking in the dark while avoiding the pits, 2 flashlights, one ring binder: all the boxes are ticked)- but I like it a lot.

NB: In post production, I've mistreated one or two cursors to create a slight colour shifting as a little extra "oomph" for the final image. Because... why not?

For the Flickr Friday Group. This weeks theme, "Why Not."

Well - more like fifteen nanoseconds but I was very quick off the mark with my screen capture just in case I pinched myself and found I was dreaming ;-))

on Whynots Beach, NS Route 3.

#flickrfriday #whynot. Why not stand out in the freezing cold of a December night for hours, when you have skies like these?

It snowed overnight and we woke up to a White Christmas, therefore why not enjoy it with a hot coffee.

This image was taken for the Flickr Friday theme "Why Not." It has been said that music soothes the savage beast, so why not place wild animals inside a violin?

The image was inspired by the works of photographer/artist Adrian Borda, who created a whole series of images of the inside of musical instruments. I came upon this violin with irreparable damage to its neck, and decided to open it up and take this picture.

Strobist/technical info:

Two Nikon SB900's with snoots were placed 2-feet above the violin 90-degrees CL and CR, pointed down at each of the f-holes, and fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄8 power. Natural window light 30-degrees behind CL illuminated the inside of the violin. Additional fill light was created by briefly sweeping the utility beam of a Coast TX10 Quad Color flashlight across the scene.

The speedlights were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X's.

SMC PENTAX (K) 50mm f1.2 @ f2.8 extended.

One of my very first attempts with my macro lens. Plenty of hard work to be done to master it, but I love capabilities already.

A sunbeam creeps into the room and catches a camera bag on a chair. I'm watching the footy on TV. The only kit within reach carries my Takumar 200/3.5 and the subject's a bit big for the frame. No worries; grab three frames to stitch and back to the footy. One of those moments 👀 😊

Memories of the neighbourhood where I spent part of my youth.

This would be only 500 meters from where I have lived for a few years, as a kid. My grandmother had lived there practically all of her life.

It's truly a blessing to be able to pick fruit from the trees and bushes, to walk in fields and woods, and to climb in trees as a kid!

Just simple beauty for me, and a warm feeling of home.

Spending some lovelly time here at Champagne Lounge, please subscribe to their Flickr group and support this beautiful sim guys, come visit it too, you'll love it. Here's your Taxi 🚕

Still playing with my Auto-Takumar 35mm f2.3. Rather than reversing its front element, why not remove it altogether? This Robber Fly certainly wasn't perturbed 😉.

Two slightly different images of the same subject for viewing in 3-D using the crossview stereo method. Try viewing the combined image from a distance of about 12 inches (30cm+/-) to start. Look down your nose to go cross eyed and the two images should seem to move apart from each other, with a new image forming between them. Let your eyes adapt to the central image - it should pop strongly into 3D. Changing the viewing distance and/or viewing on a smaller/bigger screen may help.
