for Smile on Saturday - Brush

Not what I originally intended but with bare trees the light was just too harsh, nothing really to get the reflective bokeh I was looking for, oh well

Well - it was asking for it. And then it was gone.

, an astronomical clock from about 1325, believed to be the work of Peter Lightfoot, a monk of Glastonbury.[129] Its mechanism, dated to between 1386 and 1392, was replaced in the 19th century, and the original mechanism moved to the Science Museum in London, where it continues to operate. It is the second-oldest surviving clock in England,

The clock has its original medieval face. As well as showing the time on a 24-hour dial, it reflects the motion of the Sun and Moon, the phases of the Moon, and the time since the last new Moon. The astronomical dial represents a geocentric or pre-Copernican view of the universe, with the Sun and Moon revolving round a central fixed Earth,

Sunbridge Wells in Bradford, West Yorkshire has been in use since the 13th century. It started life as a quarry but has a really interesting history since then. It’s many uses include air raid shelter, rubbish dump, night club and more recently a nighttime shopping and entertainment complex. When it was a nightclub many famous people started their careers there, including Rod Stewart, Julie Driscoll, Long John Baldry, Brian Auger and Ginger Baker, far too many to list here.

Looking up at the unique and amazing ceilings, love the symmetry here.

Have a great week ahead everyone.

My well worn glasses. Traces of glue can be seen on the edge of the lens on the left. At one point the glass fell out when I lifted the glasses from the table.

For the photo, I placed the glasses on a mirror and used a small ring light from the left.

One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Smell".

Not quite a spectacular or interesting capture, perhaps... but I suppose it’s not an easy theme for me somehow! These peppercorns are around 3-4 mm in diameter.

Well, I had to call it that on this occasion, at least I didn't mention the B word ;))

holding up really well for being almost 2 years old.

As well as being known for its many country estates and beautiful old churches, Northamptonshire has numerous stables and riding schools. I came across half a dozen horses with their riders on this country road within the space of around five minutes.

The thatched cottage on the left, which is on the outskirts of Cottesbrooke, dates from the mid-late 1700s.

Well, we went to the city yesterday afternoon for a quiet coffee. Knowing that the annual Pride Parade was on, we opted for an area of the city that would be relatively quiet or so we thought. Once we arrived we started to notice a lot of cars on Sveavägen (name of the street). I didn't bring my camera, but luckily my phone takes RAW photos, so we spent a couple of hours looking at and photographing the cars cruising up and down the street. It was good fun.

Near Collepardo, on the slopes of the mountains La Monna and Rotonaria, in the complex of the Ernici, the Pozzo d'Antullo is a huge karst chasm that was created due to the sinking of a cave. The overhanging walls are still affected by dripping, or drops of water, and have many stalactites.

Mt. Shuksan is the most photographed mountain in the state. This lake is one reason. You can drive around to the perfect viewpoint and then walk down a well maintained path to one of several platforms for viewing and snapping.

Well, evidently, we are in another drought here in California.

Fortunately, my Jeep is...

Some time ago I posted an image of the main courtyard of the Albornozian Fortress of Spoleto. This image reproduces the well, with the papal coats of arms, which is located in the invisible part of my previous image of which I provide the link:

You came, now look into well.. What can you see? No one can't tell.. Be aware.. The previous one drop into well...

Barely secure chained lid on a huge well lid cover in the park.

Sometimes you sink

you fall into your well of silence,

in your abyss of proud anger,

and you can hardly go back,

still with shreds of what you found

in the depth of your existence.

My love, what do you find in your closed well?

algae, bogs, rocks?

what do you see with blind eyes, rancorous and wounded?

my life, you will not find in the well in which you fall

what I keep for you in the height:

a bouquet of dewy jasmine,

a kiss deeper than your abyss.

Do not fear me, do not fall into your grudge again.

shake my word that came to hurt you

and let her fly through the open window.

she will hurt me again without you directing her

since she was loaded with a hard instant

and that instant will be disarmed in my chest.

Smile radiantly at me if my mouth hurts you.

i'm not a sweet shepherd like in fairy tales,

but a good woodcutter who shares with you

earth, wind and thorns of the mountains.

Love me, smile at me, help me to be good.

don't hurt me, it will be useless,

don't hurt me because you hurt yourself.

These birds forage in shallow water, sometimes using their bills to stir up the water. They mainly eat insects and small fish, as well as crustaceans and marine worms. It often walks in sand or mud and leaves clear tracks; it can be possible to gather information about this species using its tracks.
