Gracias

Albi, located in the department of Languedoc, France, is a city that I know well because I have family in it. I have already described it several times and I do not want to repeat myself.
But this city has a problem and it is that almost all the buildings are built with bricks of the same reddish color, so in the photographs this color is always the dominant one and there is nothing that stands out.
In this case it is the part of the river Tarn where there is a viewpoint from which I took many photographs.
When checking that the dominant color remains the same, I decided to turn it to grayscale and I think it has been quite good. At least I really like it.
I recommend expanding it to see it in all its details. Thanks
Well, not really. Just my imagination!

Wishing you all a HAPPY, PEACEFUL and a BLESSED Friday/Weekend!
Well, this was in bloom around Thanksgiving, so that it's called that. There are also Christmas and Easter cactus, if you'd like to know :-))
Vicars' Close, in Wells, Somerset, is claimed to be the oldest purely residential street with original buildings surviving intact in Europe. This mid-14th century street has 27 properties (originally 44), built for Bishop Ralph of Shrewsbury, a chapel and library at the north end, and a hall at the south end, over an arched gate. It is connected at its southern end to Wells Cathedral by way of a walkway over Chain Gate.
The Close is about 460 feet (140 m) long, and paved with setts (granite blocks). Its width is tapered by 10 feet (3.0 m) to make it look longer when viewed from here at the main entrance nearest the Cathedral.
The Damrak houses first introduced me to the Dutch word gezellig (meaning cozy or homely) I was always wandering in from the train station after dark and I would constantly stop and stare at these houses thinking it felt like an incandescent oasis in a city of fluorescents, warming the night and the Damrak with its soft glow.
When you walk by during the day usually things are shut tight against the throngs of tourists walking back and forth from the central station but at night when the crowds have dissipated the curtains open and the world seems to be welcome to become a witness to the nocturnal activities of the residents.
The Damrak historically was originally part of the Amstel river below the Dam that gave Amsterdam its name, Rak means a straight stretch or place to gain speed, so the Damrak was actually the straight piece of river below the Dam across the Amstel where sailors would pick up some speed on their home stretch to the port of Amsterdam.

Seen from my garage window. I left a lot of my fallen apples on the ground this year and have had several grateful deer enjoying them.

For a change, this is a new (outside!) photo, taken just a few days ago at the wonderful Britzer Garten, one of Berlin's biggest and most beautiful public parks (please check my album for more "Britz bliss", if you like).
For better dynamic range, I've used exposure bracketing (three images), pre-processed the images in DXO PhotoLab (sharpness and DeepPrime denoising only), from which I directly went into HDR Efex Pro to combine the images. I'm trying to get away from the annual Adobe subscription, and combining images from an exposure bracketing series in HDR Efex instead of Lightroom is one step into that direction. Unfortunately, whenever I think I can finally leave Adobe behind for good they come up with improvements such as the new "supersize" function (now also available in LR), a ton of new presets for LR, and other interesting stuff (and I'm still used to the LR/PS workflow, and the layers in PS). Well, maybe I'll be ready next year ;)
Extra sliding was done in Color Efex, where I added some "Brilliance and Warmth" and a tiny bit of "Contrast Color Range".

Montezuma Well, a detached unit of Montezuma Castle National Monument, is a natural limestone sinkhole near the town of Lake Montezuma, Arizona, through which some 1,500,000 US gallons of water emerge each day from an underground spring. It is located about 11 miles northeast of Montezuma Castle. Wikipedia

How deep;
Measurements made on previous dives showed the west vent as deep 82 feet (137 feet overall) and the east vent at 40 feet (95 feet overall). The National Park Service dive team also lowered a camera some 40 feet into the west vent and discovered it was a continual column of fluidized sand for the entire depth.Sep 28, 2021

Hamnøy is a small fishing village in Lofoden, Norway. It is located about 1.5 kilometres northeast of the village of Reine,
The first time I seen an image of this it was somewhere I always wanted to visit and this week I was lucky enough to make it. We had a 4.30am start to make it for blue hour and having an hour or so of snow sleet and rain to stand in but well worth it.
Please feel free to favourite and follow.
Red fox kits near their den. These adorable red fox kits will be a bit difficult to photograph because the den is in a really bushy area. The good thing is mama fox chose a very safe area for them because they are so well hidden!
I liked the yellow barrels in the forefront, the colour was striking. Beautiful Wells harbour stretches behind, with a yacht, birds and marshes. The barrels were a temporary fence - gone next time I was there. HFF!
I can't breathe, I'm waiting for the exhale
Toss my pain with my wishes in a wishing well
Still no luck, but oh, well
I still try even though I know I'm gon' fail
Stress on my shoulders like an anvil
Perky got me itching like an anthill
Drugs killing me softly, Lauryn Hill
Sometimes I don't know how to feel
Ring-ring, phone call from depression
You used my past and my memories as a weapon
On the other line, I talk to addiction, huh
Speaking of the devil, all the drugs, I miss them
This can't be real, is it fiction?
Somethin' feels broke, need to fix it
I cry out for help, do they listen?
I'ma be alone until it's finished
This is the part where I tell you I'm fine
But I'm lying, I just don't want you to worry
This is the part where I take all my feelings and hide 'em
'Cause I don't want nobody to hurt me
Mist Mountain is just another stunning peak seen along the southern part of the Kananaskis trail (Bighorn Hwy).
Thanks Raya for identifying this slanted mountain. You do know your Kananaskis well. Much appreciated.
Thanks as well to the other suggestions. So many prominent peaks here.
Thanks for taking a look. Always appreciated!
Well, it had been waiting to happen: here is my Blender made B744 (or an approximation thereof).
Many thanks to Blender Guru for an excellent tutorial. Since the passenger versions of the B744 are being discontinued, I made a Cargo version though (which means I had to make only a few windows).
I used a blueprint of a B744 from Getoutlines.com to model the aircraft.
To make the livery I used Inkscape (first UV unwrapped the model, saved the UV file, imported in Inkscape, drew the livery there, then used that as a texture in Blender to project it on the UV unwrapped aircraft).
All software is freely available.
I went through hundreds of CC0 clouds pictures before I found one that worked. It took quite some time to get the lighting right too.
This is the ‘working’ part of Wells-Next-The Sea. Less busy than the harbour, it’s a peaceful spot. The estuary is bathing in the late afternoon sunshine. This is one of the first photographs I took with the new lens for the Canon. The lens still feels like a stranger and I am in the early stages of building a relationship with it.

Hello everyone!
These past days I've been super busy and I didn't even have time to breathe!
But yesterday morning I got to get up with this wonderful view.. And well, I surely found the time to capture it 😂
You can follow me on Instagram if you want! I'll follow you back :) you can find me as gggiuliac (www.instagram.com/gggiuliac/?hl=it)
Location: Small beach somewhere between Camps Bay and Llundudno.
Description: Can you see those two thin clouds just above and to the left of the sun? Well, they were the main reason why I drove over 40km to shoot the sunset from this beach (they were much bigger earlier on)!! Heh heh… fortunately there were enough other very good reasons to photograph this sunset!
While I would have liked this one to be a bit sharper (f7.1 was not ideal), I am very pleased with the quality of the light in this shot!!

Road to Nowhere
Talking Heads
Well we know where we're going
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowing
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out
Yeah
We're on a road to nowhere
Come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
I'm feeling okay this morning
And you know
We're on the road to paradise
Here we go, here we go
We're on a ride to nowhere
Come on inside
Taking that ride to nowhere
We'll take that ride
Maybe you wonder where you are
I don't care
Here is where time is on our side
Take you there, take you there
We're on a road to nowhere
We're on a road to nowhere
We're on a road to nowhere
There's a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it's alright, baby, it's all right
And it's very far away
But it's growing day by day and it's all right
Baby, it's all right
Would you like to come along
You can help me sing the song
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
They can tell you what to do
But they'll make a fool of you
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
There's a city in my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it's alright, baby, it's all right
And it's very far away
But it's growing day by day and it's all right
Baby, it's all right, yeah
Would you like to come along
You can help me sing the song
And it's all right, baby, it's all right
They can tell you what to do
But they'll make a fool of you and it's all right
Baby, it's all right
We're on a road to nowhere

Macrolepiota procera, the parasol mushroom, is a basidiomycete fungus with a large, prominent fruiting body resembling a parasol. It is a fairly common species on well-drained soils. It is found solitary or in groups and fairy rings in pastures and occasionally in woodland. Globally, it is widespread in temperate regions.
This lady elk had plenty to eat during the summer of '22. That's a good thing as it increases her odds of surviving the lean times ahead through winter in the Rocky Mountains.
This shot was made during the elk rut in Rocky Mountain National Park. A bull and his harem had just crossed the open meadow and this cow was bringing up the rear.
