Happy weekend everyone! Another photo from our Springtime camping weekend. This time processed with my very first, very own texture. How exciting. It was fun to do and I welcome any and all feedback. How do I make this better??
We're scorching here in the UK this weekend. High 80's and no a/c. No complaints from me though...Long live summer!

Winter evenings in the California High Desert- can't complain with skies like these. A great way to spend the weekend.
Train 04 heads east just west of Geneseo, IL on a Sunday afternoon with 676 and 675 keeping the Rock Island tradition of pulling freight with excess commuter power on the weekend.
I was just out of college and was home in Geneseo for the holidays about a week before I started with Santa Fe and I got a call from Gary Powell alerting me that this train was leaving the Quad Cities. I excused myself from the family gathering, went to a crossing a couple of miles west of town, took the shot and went back home. No chase.

The University of Central Arkansas celebrated its homecoming weekend Oct. 29-30 with numerous activities. Members of the 50 year class were honored at the Half Century Club, young alums were welcomed at the Bear Bash, and Stephanie Sanders was named the homecoming queen. On the field, the Bears enjoyed a 30-23 win over Southeastern Louisiana.
Had to sneak a few shots of the Poke. She's so cute sleeping all curled up in a ball like this while I was re-reading old issues of a favorite magazine. It's no longer in circulation. :(
Lazy weekends are the best weekends. :)

The REM light rail line opened between downtown Montreal and Brossard on the South Shore with free rides offered all weekend. Here two trains meet, with Autoroute 10 on either side and Mount Royal in the background.

When I took a break from photography, one of the things I had forgotten about flickr was the wonderful interactions we make with people around the world.
Of the many recent cheerful new encounters in flickr has been meeting beeing-myself who has been generous in her comments on my photos and she occasionally digs deep into my legacy photos. Some of the older photos are somewhat hard for me to see again – I fall into self-critique mode of wishing I had done this or that as I was still learning the craft (and I still am). Happily, one such photo gave me a chance to revisit and to rediscover in B&W.
