This weekend, I rented a car and drove 3 hours away to spend every minute with my Grandma Lesley. She is a fabulous, wonderful, amazing lady of 94.5 years, and one of my biggest living heroes. We even had a slumber party in her room both nights! So tiring, but so much fun!
Ursuline's Homecoming weekend and all of the associated activities took place on the weekend of November 11-14.

33 photographs stitched together in Autopano Pro. I took 11 shots of each area 3 times and created 3 separate panoramics, one at -2ev, 1 at 0ev and one at +2ev. I then tonemapped all 3 panoramics in Photomatix. From there, it was off to TIffen's DFX filter suite for the coloration and diffusion. Noise Ninja did the noise reduction duty and back into Aperture for final cleanup. My first HDR Panoramic photo, and I'm pretty happy with the initial result.
The sequence of events went like this:
1. When I was photographing Timmy and Mergle a couple of weekends ago, I discovered that VHS cassettes were the perfect size and weight for both keeping my backdrop paper weighted down and for shimming up my slide projector.
2. I decided to purchase some old VHS cassettes at the Goodwill Outlet for this purpose.
3. I found a copy of "Renegades" starring Lou Diamond Phillips and a moustachioed Kiefer Southerland.
4. I decided I actually wanted to watch this movie.
5. A VCR was purchased and an event was created.
Unfortunately, of the four people who said they'd show up, only one (Cap'n Ed) actually did. Still, we had fun watching the movie and making fun of it throughout. It was the perfect sort of movie for the sort of movie night I had in mind.
After the movie finished and Cap'n Ed had left, though, Bridget got off work and came over and we watched a different movie together. Wasn't quite as good since it didn't take itself quite seriously enough to be properly made fun of, but it was still a really nice Movie Night Part II, and Bridget is prettier than Cap'n Ed, so she got to be my Picture of the Day.
This weekend Scots and whisky in Archeon (I liked the contrast with the Roman bathhouse, added some texture to the background)

Last weekend I drove down to TN with Charlie to hang out with our friends at the House of StanceWorks, and go to Import Alliance. These are the pictures I took that weekend, not all of them are at the show, so excuse the tags on the images, I got lazy and didn't want to write tags for each picture haha.
This weekend, workers replaced panels of track along the J/M/Z Line near Hewes St. This photo shows a worker lagging down tie supports. Photo by Metropolitan Transportation Authority / Leonard Wiggins.
The BRSCC Race Weekend featured a variety of championships at Knockhill Racing Circuit, Fife in September 2022.
The car seen here, a Ford Fiesta ST150 competing in the AIRTEC Motorsport Fiesta Championship, Number 89, was entered by Joseph Knight.

Why can I not stop myself from making impulse buys from Cheap Shops ? I HAD to buy this long smock-like tee shirt which doesn't really do much for me anyway & knowing that if I dare to put it in the washing machine, it will come out looking like an old rag. I'm just buying more landfill.
And who, besides tiny children & maybe Twiggy, ever looked good in a smock? It's such a bad look.
The skirt is a favourite thrifted item from The Wayside Chapel Shoppe.
And that's another thing: the weather. I've noticed other wardrobe remixers mentioning unseasonally warm weather in their Northern World, but down under is supposed to be hot & steamy in February. It's not, it's cold. Last night I wore ski sox to bed. Never in my lifetime has it been like this at this time of the year. That's why I'm wearing footless tights & shoes. Slightly unsettling.
