First time I've shot a sporting event that wasn't motor racing. It's much more tricky than it looks and I got plenty of exercise lugging my camera with the Sigma 150-500(AKA ICBM lens) up and down the pitch. Conditions were pretty rubbish, dark grey skies and sleet. So eventually I swapped to the 135mm for faster shutter speeds and to give my back a rest!
EDIT: Just realised I didn't actually say what the sport was! It was Brighton Blues Vs Deal & Betteshanger in the London and SE second division rugby.

GWR 43079 & 43197 on 1A78, cruises along the Dawlish Sea Wall towards Dawlish Warren on a Plymouth to London Paddington service.
I was due to take this view on my extensively photographic trip down to Devon & Cornwall last week, however due to cloud and the threat of heavy rain, that plan was aborted, but worked perfectly this time around.
this week i took so many photos for this theme. i couldn't really decide which one i shoud take..
i hope that you like this one :)

YES that is real live FOG!! at 6:30 in the morning.
it is so nice not having to blur my backgrounds anymore. my camera does it for me :)
more in comments!
i also still haven't put the film up from 2 weeks ago so hopefully I'll get around to that this weekend!
This was taken on Vance Creek Bridge in WA. I spent the first 15 minutes practically on all fours, terrified of getting vertigo and falling off the bridge. Over time, as I tried to set up the shot that I wanted, the fear faded and I spent the last 15 minutes running back and forth from the camera to check the composition of the photos.
THIS, is my happiness. Out geocaching with Mel the other day, after being cooped up for many months due to a foot surgery, this was one of the happiest days I've had in a long time. When I asked her what she thought my top 3 favorite things were that made me happy, she answered without hesitation, GeoCaching, wine, and my dogs. And she was right!!
52 Week Project- Week 28/52
So I may have slightly over-hyped this image, but I never expected the type of response I got when I posted the light test yesterday. It took on a life of it's own, so you may be looking at it and saying, "this is it? This is what she was nervous about?"
Well yes. This is what I was nervous about.
For the past 21 years of my life on earth, I have always been naturally skinny. I could eat six cupcakes and drink a can of Monster in one sitting at age 13 and not worry about it the next day. That's just how it was. 21 came around, and with that, introduced self-awareness along with some changes in my body. I felt skin rolling over in places it never dared to explore before. I became more conscious of how my legs looked in shorts. In short, I gained some weight and also became aware of these changes in a very unforgiving way.
I was not nice to myself.
I made every effort to hide things that had softened and stuck out, hyper-conscious of how I looked in dresses. My legs became on object of obsession with me as I constantly beat myself down over how I looked. So when I was working on another idea with these orchids, I started to notice all those flaws. Flaws that screamed at me to do better, to be better. Something that was supposed to be a beautiful portrait, quickly became dark and I started to see the confidence drain from my posture as I looked through the images on the back of the camera. The more I yelled at myself for slacking on exercise or having that extra beer, the more I literally curled inward on the stool.
My self portraits have always been about how I've been feeling and I felt like complete garbage by the end of it. Convinced I had failed, I went back through the images and came across this one. "This could work" I told myself, quickly tucking my problematic thighs up and removing those stomach rolls. But it didn't feel right. I've been preaching self-love, yet I couldn't find it in myself to do the same. I even sent the retouched versus un-retouched to friends to see if they found those imperfections to be "gross" or "distracting". I caught myself midway through, realizing just how mean I was being to myself.
I realized, if I talked to a friend the way I talked to myself, I'd be alone in this world.
So here it is. I reversed the changes I had made, left my thighs in their natural thickness, my legs in an un-shaven glory (which I'm sure you can see if you zoom in, take a gander), and my stomach in it's roly-poly, bad boy self.
I'm legitimately sweating writing this, but I think it's time I allowed myself to be me. To not tuck myself away, to show that I can embrace and accept my body. Can you do the same?

For this week's topic I chose to work with oxymorons, a combination of contradictory words.

Vedrete prossimamente!
On air: Summertime Sadness - Lana del Rey.
Things that bring me joy. Family, home, nature, being creative, being helpful, and 52 week projects. :)
I've haven't been this proud of myself in a very long time. I've made it half way through my 52 week!
You guys never really like my hair flip shots, but I love this too much for words. The light was so beautiful, it went away so quickly though that I only had time for about three shots.
Ironically, this is inspired by Rona, one of the best photographers on flickr in my opinion (she's tagged!). I say ironically, because she's one of the reasons I even started this 52 week, and I think that it's really cool that this shoot happened to fall on my half way mark!
+1 in comments, it's the same one in black and white, it was super hard to choose! Many more outtakes from this day to come.
(February 28 - March 6)
Meep! I'm not sure if this will actually be my picture for the week. I can't decide if I like the edit or not. Haha, so yeah, I might not leave this up. I just really feel like uploading something and I really need to start experimenting more with my processing.
Anyway! Katie and I met up with our friend from grade school, Ruby, who we hadn't seen in ages. We had originally planned to go downtown to take pictures, but getting down there proved to be tricky so we just drove around near us in hopes that we'd find a good spot. We were just about to give up on trying to find somewhere when we found this really cool abandoned repair shop on the side of the road with this crazy hill that led up to all sorts of cool location goodness! (:

Week #12 Metal - The Haywagon. This old pick up is still working today! Only it is feeding horses on a farm. Best I can tell, it is a late 1940s Ford F1 pick-up truck. This was shot on a beautiful fresh sunny afternoon. (A little chilly!) A little tweaking was done in Aftershot Pro.
Week 39:52 Graffiti (September 23rd - 29th)
----------------------------------------------------------------
There are a lot of wonderful paintings on the brick buildings in the nearby 'city' in my area and most, if not all of them were permitted by the municipality. Decided not to use them for this theme because I took the phrase "without permission" and see the word "usually" actually does mean "always" for my interpretation of graffiti.
----------------------------------------------------------------
There is quite a bit of this style around the area. This example is one of the closest to the main street in town. The others are on side streets and freight cars on the railroad tracks. Cannot be certain if this particular piece shows the work of 2 contributors, since at first glance, seems to be the case... or possibly 3.
knowing that I couldn’t
made me realize that I can.
this time I’ll make it
I finished all the commissioned photos I had to edit that week and could cross out another thing on my to do list, which felt really good.
I spent too much time for my own good thinking about photos I haven’t taken yet.
and I had fun times with my friends. :)

The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre, New Plymouth, New Zealand.
The Len Lye Centre is an extension to the Govett-Brewster, built to display the works of artist Len Lye. The Len Lye Centre was opened on 25 July 2015. This is the first gallery in New Zealand to be dedicated to a single artist.

I passed by Emeryville Bay after I got out from work to catch the Blue Angels fly over San Francisco Bay but this was what was left of it after the airshow. DSC_0425
At the location of our car shoot. As we were leaving the car was behind us and throwing some cool shadows on the wall so I shot this of me and Todd for my 52 week. I will be putting up some more car shots this week. It was a fun shoot.

Thank you so much friends
At this point, the car was still fairly original. Over several years, I spent a lot of time, effort and money replacing numerous 1968 parts with modern ones - a four speed stick shift and related transmission components, an all new suspension with new shocks and bushings, replacement of leaking brake lines, the removal of the original asbestos drum brakes and many other components which had survived long beyond their original 5 year GM built-in lifespan. Under the hood, the car still contained the factory 400 Cubic Inch V8 engine, which also required lots of new and reproduction components to make it road-worthy.
