Ten weeks (hopefully) to go.

The doctor said Anna was at the same size as a singleton mother at 36 weeks.

Both babies are right where they should be growth-wise. Everyone is so far healthy and happy. I am very thankful.

Week 1: Out with the old. The old wool packaging from my food boxes is now outside in the garden being used as a weedmat.

Week 1 January 2021.

This is our first ultrasound at approximately 6 weeks. Scott affectionately refers to it as the blob.

Slave or Master?

I love my computer. It's amazing. I use it for everything. I'm on it for at least 4 hours a day. I don't know what I would do without it.

And that is the scary part. What would I do without a computer? I don't know. My life would completely change.

This image took me WAY too long to make. I probably spent 5 hours playing around with it in Photoshop. I used 8 photos to create this image. About half of them have masks and the others are combine using different layer blending options. I definitely learn a thing or two about lighting this week. Any helpful tips would be appreciated.

I started school this week so I hope to have more regular updates. Keep tuned.

I've bought this pillow with rape seeds inside during my holidays last month. You can either warm or cool it.

52 Weeks Project.

Starting this project with the following guide lines: use always artificial light, and descrive the lighting set up. I want to improve my lighting skills and this will help.

See you...

Again I thought I was huge at this point. Seriously delusional. Now that I'm 34 weeks I understand the actual definition of huge.

He's gotta name. And it's Jackson. <3

Last friday I had my admission on an art academies, sadly I was rejected. I'm a bit sad about it but when I was there I already knew that I wouldn't pass by seeing the work of students there. My photography style is way different compaired to the students there so I was just at the wrong place, I guess. I'm not going to give up, I will keep trying at other art academies.

(The photo above is my 'idea notebook' or whatever it is. And I got myself some new shoes after I heard that I got rejected.)

one week left.....

When it rains more in one year than the past ten years combined, you end up with trees in the middle of a reservoir.

Very nice owl. I almost lost it schtomping around in the bush trying to get a clearer shot. I was sure I had spooked it, and I was just about to continue on, when I saw it again. It let me do even more schtomping around to get this shot. I left it to its nap.

its holy week.

i'll be trying my best to observe holy week and refrain from using the computer too much.

today was the blessing of my parish's new Holy Family Center! for 7 years, we have been raising money to build a second place to hold masses. we have one Catholic church here in tracy, and every Sunday, SO many people are standing and not sitting as we worship. the holy family center was built on the opposite side of town as the church. in a few more years, they will build another church b/c the center is only a hall, like a gym. its temporary until the actual church (with baptismal font, pews, statues and all) idk if that makes sense. haha. anyways, we parishoners at St. Brenards are all very happy to have a second place to worship so that people can actually sit during the masses.

Week 11 - Friday -Ashley Crompton

This relates to the before picture by showing identity but is also changed because someone could have two different identities.

This may not be the amount, or kind of water people have a fear of but this is my photographic artistic interpretation.

Bikes, Babes & Daytona - Loving life during Daytona BIkeWeek.

The more than a century-old image of Our Lady of Sorrows is venerated during the solemn Holy Week processions at the Parish of St. Martin of Tours in Bocaue, Bulacan.

this week's theme proved a bit challenging for me, how do you show anger? anger is an emotion and visible when a person is in the moment experiencing that feeling. it can then be 'seen'- visually through facial expressions or gestures. but you have to be in that moment to capture it?? and truly I try not to feel anger, it depletes my energy, it doesn't feel good and it's not incredibly healthy either. now don't get me wrong, there are definitely those moments of feeling 'highly frUstrated.' but for this theme, i took the route of feeling 'anger' about an item, an idea or an issue.

and for me i take issue with cancer.

there are definitely moments that i feel anger for that bugger of a disease. in our family we call it the 'little c' because we don't believe it deserves a capital letter. when it entered our lives in the form of a tumor in my seven year old son's chest and he was diagnosed with stage 4 non-hodgkins lymphoblastic lymphoma i first felt shock and fear along with a fierce abundance of protective mamma love for my child. but when you watch your child battle through 2 1/2 years of intense chemotherapy treatment moments of anger creep in. anger that his treatment atrophied his athletic body. anger that his path in life was forever changed. anger that this disease robbed my son of 2 1/2 years of precious childhood years. we don't ever get those years back. damn that cancer.

but you see the 'little c' wasn't done with our family. for five months after we joyfully celebrated our son's cure date -- he is healthy. he is strong. he is cancer free.

the 'little' c' returned.

this time it took the form of several tumors... in me. in my breast tissue. and i was diagnosed with breast cancer. again the feelings of shock, fear and fierce protective mamma love for my kids took hold. my journey took the form of surgeries- double mastectomy and thankfully no radiation or chemotherapy. but i have to take a drug for the next five years (thus the photo above.) the drug has side effects the main one throwing my body into menopause and that's a bugger. i feel too young. the hot flashes and night sweats are not fun. but my pain is gone. i'm cancer free. i'm healthy, i'm strong and i'm alive.

but damn that little c.

I was inspired by a friend's martini. These are blueberries in a glass with a clear carbonated liquid. I suppose blueberries were an easy pick for this week's theme, but I tried to do something a little different with them. I think this shot would also look fab in BW. I might have to go get some glasses with different shapes. The curvature of the side of the wine glass made it a bit difficult to get the DOF I wanted - I think an actual martini glass would work better. This was fun project - I may do a series of 'glass shots' this summer!
