An exciting, vibrant and fun packed week including Circus Skills, Japanese Drumming and African Dance. In the evening there were Inter-House competitions. 5th-9th February 2018.
There is a lot about wine that reminds me of our friends on Kaua'i. There were times when it seemed we went through this many corks in a weekend. Saving the corks is an idea that I got from Joe and Chelsae. In addition, we were frequent visitors at different wine tastings around the island. We have some pretty great stories about consuming wine while the four of us travelled Greece as well.

Well, Rob thinks it's a bit of a bump. I still think it looks like a beer gut, but I admit I switched to maternity jeans last weekend. Not because my regular jeans no longer fit - they did, and probably still do - but they were just feeling more and more uncomfortable on my midsection. We're going on a trip soon, and I didn't want to suddenly not fit in my clothes while away from home.
Not much to report this week in preggers land. No doctor's appointments, nothing like that. I am going in to meet with a nurse to listen to the heartbeat before I go on my trip, just for a little piece of mind. Hopefully by the time we return, I will be able to feel the baby kicking and won't feel the urge for the reassurance of the doppler.
Week Seven
This is basically what I do every night: draw a bubble bath and bring a bottle of tea and a notebook with me, hoping that inspiration strikes. It never does.
This week was somewhat exciting.
Valentine's day was on Monday; my boyfriend and I went to see the King's Speech and went to dinner (breakfast in my case) at a greek restaurant.
On Friday, I had a French scholarship competition. That went well, I suppose.
Finally, on Saturday, I went to see Escape the Fate, Alesana and Motionless in White with my best friend, Erica. I don't even listen to them anymore; I just wanted a bit of nostalgia.
I think my concert days are over...

Hrmmmph...No flowers this time...no walk....no photo shoot...no nothing. Mom kept leaving me and then coming home with her camera and smelling like other dogs. I kept waiting all weekend for our shoot, and this this is all I get.

This is one of the first pictures that I ever took. I used a Nikon 35mm camera that I got for my 17th birthday. The picture was taken in one of my favourite places in Edinburgh. I know this isn't essentially "me", but it was the result of pictures like this that made me love photography and continue until now.
Book Week took place across the Primary School between Sunday 24th March and Thursday 28th March. During this time, we celebrated books and reading with a range of fun activities. We were lucky enough to be visited by a UK author, Alan Durant, who has published over 100 books and all pupils in years 2 – 6 enjoyed an assembly with him in which they got to listen to some of his poetry and even join in with some themselves. Alan Durant also lead writing workshops for a selection of children in the Primary School along with signing books and discussing his writing with small groups. Other activities in school included a Book Swap in which many children were able to exchange an old book from home for a new one they had not yet read, Stop Everything and Read which had us all waiting in suspense each day for the bell to ring along the corridors so we could pick up our books, and a Book Character Dress Up Day to end the week. The week was a huge success and all pupils got fully involved, writing fantastic Book Reviews for our competition and immersing themselves in a good book at every opportunity.

Additional photos taken during Branch Week. The Stanford Football team toured cadet area and learned a little about the various branches.
Week 7/52 Help Portrait (Please Read!!!)
Help Portrait is a Global Initiative by Photographers to give back to the community, by donating their time, skills and their resources to help people in need. Many of the families we photograph have never had their photographs taken before, and we give it to them for free. H-P is something that happens around the world, and as a photographer, it's the most meaningful thing I've ever been a part of.
This year, we are taking on a whole lot more, In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, we are teaming up with the Police Athletic League and Santa Clause is Coming to Town in both Staten Island and the Rockaways. We are not only giving photographs, but gift cards (25$ to every family) and Toys for every child; this is where we need some help. Anything that you can donate, a couple of dollars or a Toy especially, would be phenomenal. Attached in the comments are links to places you can help out. Thank You!

I'm on a mission to complete the 52 week photo challenge, to capture at least 1 photo a week for a whole year.
This weekend scholars took part in "Get Your Feet Wet," a single class that allows them to try out a subject they have little experience in. Topics they could choose from included Sushi Making, Shibori Tie-Dye, and Oreo Stacking.
Happy 2 week birthday to the furballs!!

Ventura Fashion Week (one night only) is kinda a big thing. At least for the photographers who almost outnumbered the models.
Week eight of fifty-two.
I got this sweatshirt for Christmas. It's way to big but I wear it anyways.
i did not cut my head off on purpose.
Post double lung transplant (6 weeks)
6-week Bronchoscopy
November 11th 2010
A Bronchoscopy (Bronch) is where they stick a tiny tube down your throat and look around inside the lungs. I was in a twilight state, so I didn't know what was going on.
This procedure is done to make sure there is no infection, rejection, or anything else going on inside the new transplanted lungs.
The images you see above are the Tracheobronchial tree. There were 6 portions, as you see above.
The results were great. I had no infection or rejection or anything else going on.
-----------------------------------------------
RESULTS- (word for word)
The nasopharnx/oropharnynx appears normal. The larynx appears normal. The vocal cords move normally with phonation and breathing. The subglottic space is normal. The trachea is normal caliber. The carina is sharp. The tracheobronchial tree was examined to at least the first subsegmental level. Bronchial mucosa and anatomy are normal. There are no endobronchial lesions, and no secretions.
Anastomoses Examination: The surgical anastomosis in the right & left mainstream bronchus is normal.
BAL was performed in the lingula and sent for cell count, bacterial culture, viral smears & culture, fungal & AFB analysis and compromised host protocol.
100 ML of fluid were instilled. 60 ML were returned. The return was clear.
Transbronchial biopsies were performed in the LLL lateral basal segments and in the LLL posterior basal segment using forceps. The procedure was fluoroscopically guided. Ten biopsy passes were performed (took 10 pieces of my lung for biopsy) Estimated blood loss: minimal.
The blue you see is stitches and the yellow you see is normal.
Final Results: The results came back good, but I do have minimal rejection (air-way inflammation/CMV), which is normal. Everyone who has a transplant has rejection. They increased my Cellcept (anti-rejection medication) from 500 MG 2x daily to 1,000 MG 2x daily. My next Bronch will be in January 2011, and they'll go from there.
