Can't believe this is the last day of 'Roid Week. It always goes by so fast, especially when you try to shoot the Polaroids during the actual event. I still don't like this film. Maybe I'll have something better to use next time.
I have so much to be grateful for! I am grateful for these little wrestler’s. I am grateful that they are healthy and happy. I am grateful that we are able to provide a warm home that is filled with love and food. I am grateful that we are surrounded by a community of family and friends who offer unconditional love and support. I am grateful to have found this wonderful and talented group and project that have allowed me to grow my photography hobby and give me the opportunity to take photo’s of my family that I will be able to forever look back on and be reminded of all of the things I have to be grateful for.
Sitting with me in the garden. I think she must have been creeping through the greenery to get all that stuff on her face.

EP Project Week 28/52 ~ "Pair"
Back home today from an amazing vacation. Weddings, Family Reunions, Photoshoots galore and just good ole family fun.
This is a shot of one of my very favorite bridges in Texas. The Fred Hartman Bridge. I love the to pair of peaks that always looks to me like a Big M. When my nieces and nephew were little they used to call it the McDonald's Bridge. LOL
On the trip back from Texas yesterday we stopped by the Ellenburg Photography (FABULOUS) Studio and Don and I got to FINALLY meet Daphne in person. We had such an awesome time. See, I am turning the Big Six-O next month and I wanted to have some photos done to commemorate the event. Daphne sure did make me feel fabulous and glamorous. Thank you again Daphne for the amazing experience. Your studio is absolutely perfect and I know you will have many years of continued success. (hugs)
Wishing all a very Happy and Fun Weekend

Branch Week at West Point - Cadet have the opportunity to learn more about the various branches in the Army - what the future may hold once they have completed their training and education at West Point.
I just got back from my week away in Kuala Lumpur so I have a lot to upload. This one has been up on my website for a week but I forgot to upload it before I left.
This guy was hard to keep up with when I was trying to take this shot. I also had to get quite close since I was using a 35mm so I wonder if he knew how close I was behind him…
This week's challenge was to critique our own photo editing...and redo. I set this shot up several times and played with all kinds of compositions before I settled on one of the simpler ones. I will still be looking for a better background...this bench is too narrow. Without Lightroom I did all my editing in PSE10 including some minor changes in hue and levels and adding a warming filter. I also added two of Kim Klassens textures, Desert and Subtly Yours. I still find it a bit dark along the bottom edge but preferred it to some of my other edits.
The 66th Security Forces Squadron hosted several events May 16 through 20 as part of this year's annual National Police Week. National Police Week pays recognition to federal and local law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

As most mom's out there know, there is nothing quite like watching your babies grow up and become their own little person, to watch their personality come through a little more each day. Even if you look at their sweet little face and know that down the road they are going to give you a run for your money. And as much as we went through for this little one, I will enjoy every mess, every giggle when I tell her no, and every future argument we may have when she's a teenager.
She is our Joy after a rainstorm.
My ideal photo for this week would have been a particular shot I took two weeks ago. Obviously, I couldn't submit that one so had to look for something else. Travelling to work this week I noticed that the train stations have convex mirrors that the drivers use for looking back along the platform. So I decided to capture a reflected image in one of these mirrors at my local station.
Although it is obviously processed it is only the one photo. The processing was very quick and simple. I selected the mirror, then blurred and removed colour from everything else. Finally, I slightly adjusted the saturation in the mirror image to make it pop a bit.
