Dogwood 52 week photography challenge
dogwood.photography/52weekchallenge.html
animals are kind of like little children =)
For the Nighttime Long Exposure theme at 52 weeks in 2018.
Well, it rained most of the week and all of the weekend so my plans for an outdoor shot didn't work. Hope this is acceptable.

The world is full of beauty, even in the dark, it shines the light…
In the past winter, went to Niagara Falls in the early morning many times (drove in the dark for one hour and 40 minutes one way)... I posted similar one which was taken a week later. You can see the difference between one week, snow began to melt in one week. This one was fully covered with snow, like a fairy tales world. But it was freezing cold in the early morning. 😉

Refraction is such a cool theme and it brings back memories of this group. My first ever Explore was from a refraction theme for this group in 2013 and it’s still my profile pic.
Last week my love and I were on our way to botanical garden. But the traffic was dreadful, and since we couldn’t change the traffic we changed our route: outside the city…up to the mountains. And then down to a lake.
There was a summerish autumn in İstanbul. As we started climbing, the temperature started declining. When we reached the top, there was 15 degrees difference... and chilly yet most refreshing air…reviving us.
Most of the mountain trees had worn their autumn clothes, though some of them were still green. The trees in the city were still green back then.
Things had changed in the last week: the trees of the city started to wear their autumn clothes, too. The weeds and grass got green and greener because of soft rain and sunshine following each other, yet the trees tell me it is autumn!
On a trip out today with the wife and happened upon this old abandoned barn on the side of the road near Daventry, Northamptonshire and just had to take a look. I took a few shots but this is one of the favourites and meets week 17's theme in my photo a week challenge.
I love the geometry of the beams and rafters which practically scream triangles, rectangles and probably even parallelograms everywhere. Certainly a testament to the workmanship given this roof is still standing when some of the brick walls have holes you could walk through! And no, I don't mean doors LOL
Shot on a Panasonic G3 converted for infrared photography, processed in Lightroom and Silver Efex.
I am a bit late with this one. Hand held, and practicing panos. I stitched 3 photos in the online I.C.E program. I have a new computer so it has been a test of my brain power to work out how to do everything again as things have changed a great deal in 8 years since I bought my last computer! Taken on our drive to visit a friend recently. I did not quite have the photo flow in line, so the stitching program has cut off more of the pano I would have liked, however, what a great reminder this challenge has been to practice it more often. It is odd how the program also puts in random bits, like a shadow, so you have to be vigilant in scanning the finished photo and adjust accordingly.
What I do every single day of the week, is go for a walk. Walking is healthy, we sit around too much so I walk and I love it.
Early mornings are the best !
Thank you for your views, faves and or comments, they are greatly appreciated !!!

Had a pretty good photog day......which always makes me happy. I have so many to look through and so I'm sure I'll be uploading more photos throughout the week.
I took the time today to lay out under the sun...and just enjoy the nature around me. The sky has been SO blue here in the Keys lately. I mean BLUE! It's gorgeous.
A little update on my continuing Anxiety situation. I had another visit with my doc who decided that he would like to try me on Buspar next. Though I'm still apprehensive about it, I will give it a shot. I am also starting counseling this week as well as the woman's bible study from my church. I am so excited about these things and look forward to seeing how this will help me. The funny thing is....I"m already feeling a difference in myself, just making these choices to find help in various avenues.
For the first time in a while....I am looking forward to the future. THough I know that there will be some challenges ahead, I'm really ready to take them as they come.
Plus I have my most awesome flickr friends to help me out when I need it!
xoxoxoxo
much luv!

[ 02 / 52 Weeks - 09 - 15 january ]
This week subject: Nature.
Metamorphosis.
This shot has NOT a realistic aim.
Not really what I wanted to do for Long Exposure, but the weather, work and lack of time in general have conspired against me.
Week #44 Long Exposure
HSS!
Colors manipulated, plus I replaced a Northern Shoveler duck with this Cormorant, which I was able to photograph a few minutes later - but in a less desirable location :)
Compositionally Challenged, Week 47, Water.
I started this project exactly half a year ago. I’m sad that the time passed so fast and happy because there’s another 26 weeks left.
in twenty six weeks...
... I will be 20 and it will be okay.
... I will be done with school for good.
... I will be able to not care about what others think.
... I will be content with who I am.
... I will know what I want to achieve.
... I will be happy.
as for last week, I spent my time on studying ethics and french and realizing how bad I really am at maths.
and I noticed how much I love spending my time with the people I got to know at school. I am incredibly happy I changed schools in 10th grade. I had so many problems and I don’t have any of them anymore. I am grateful for the people I have around me and I enjoy random moments with them so much. sometimes I just remember what that change did to me. and I know it was the best decision I have ever made.

My great grandfather's rosary with the beautiful black wooden beads is one of the many items I treasure.

2010 Anti-Torture Vigil - Week 7: A second officer arrived perhaps 30 minutes after the first who had frisked Kirk. This officer was considerably less friendly, saying, "This is how it's going to work: I'm going to talk and you're going to listen," at which point I began to talk to him as he explained that, "if I hear anything more about you guys going out in the street and causing traffic accidents" we'd be in trouble. This was nonsense, as we had remained on the sidewalk, and I told him so. Nonetheless, he stated, "If I have to come back over here, somebody's going to jail." Photograph by Dale Domer. (4/3/10)
National Moth Week celebrates the beauty, life cycles, and habitats of moths. “Moth-ers” of all ages and abilities are encouraged to learn about, observe, and document moths in their backyards, parks, and neighborhoods.
So after a very long absence from flickr I am back... I've decided to start again with my account but I'm hoping a few familiar faces will still be around!
This is my first week entry for a 52 week project
Still a few weeks behind! I thought I would do something different for me, definitely going to try this again with better lighting.

With a deserted barn in the background, a rusted old car hitched to a pleasure boat sits hub deep in grass, remaining in place until its loaded up and taken to a junkyard. My father was a workaholic, rarely taking us kids for anything resembling a vacation. Never one to crush our hopes, he always mentioned "next week".
SWITZERLAND!
I just got back from Europe, and have over 3000 photos to go through, so I hope to be upload a whole bunch in the next few days. I also need to get caught up with my 52 week thing....
and every morning she woke up somewhere new. she traveled in her sleep to the destinations she'd always hoped to visit.
and this is what i got from using photoshop for the first time. not bad.
me and my friend natalie woke up at 4 in the morning on senior ditch day to go out to the beach and take this and her senior portraits. she's a trooper.
