Love this beautiful view from up at Tower Ranch. This is just up the hill from where I live in Kelowna, BC. Located in the heart of the Okanagan’s Wine Country, Tower Ranch overlooks the stunning Okanagan Valley. :)
I was hoping this would turn out a lot better than it did, but I guess that leaves room to improve. I also learned a lesson, always plan ahead and prepare, etc. yeahyeah.
This photo has such a story. Doesn't look like very many books? Try carrying them up and down your house in a basket and dumping them 300 feet from your house. This really didn't turn out how I wanted, I wanted the sun to be shining. We didn't really realize how much time it would take to set up and how early the sun would set. Maybe one day I will re-do this, because I'm not very happy about it. This is inspired by a dream of a friend of mine, I'm not going to name that friend. So.
oh and if you didn't infer I'm starting a 52 weeks project, wish me luck!

I have tended and cared for my soul for so long; I am beginning to see the bounty and harvest of my courageous self-love.

[ 04 / 52 Weeks - 23 - 29 january ]
This week subject: Water.
OH GOSH. I AM NOT CROSSED-EYES! XD

52 Weeks: 2024 Edition: Week 1: One
Rileys first week at Hogwarts had been very eventful, filled with adventures and magical lessons from her classes. All with the adjustment of attending an actual school.
self portrait, natural light
I promise the next shots will be more creative (at least a bit)...
if I continue uploading at this rate, I'll need a pro account soon... =/
I'll have to be a bit more selective

The racing during Cowes Week viewed from Gurnard Beach Huts. I tried to use the ominous rain cloud looming overhead to really add to the composition of this shot, with the beach huts making the location instantly recognisable.
it’s easy to pretend to have nothing to do.
it’s not so easy to fool yourself.
I pretended to have free time the whole week. because I thought I deserved it. I read ‘the perks of being a wallflower‘ and it’s been the first book I have read that had nothing to do with school since I‘ve started this project in september. true fact.
I loved it very much, though. :)
the beginning of my week was not good but okay, the weekend was amazing. about 100 people from my grade went to a holiday village to party the end of our written examinations. we had lots of fun and for the first time in months I was able to forget about all the stress.

You would not believe your eyes
If ten million fireflies
Lit up the world as I fell asleep
Cause they fill the open air
And leave teardrops everywhere
You think me rude, but I would just stand and stare.
So the dog days of summer have finally arrived here in Michigan, Its so incredibly hot during the day but by night its almost impossible for me not to go sit outside and watch the lightshow of fireflies accompanied by the symphonies of cricket chirps. The true beauty of Michigan is the only thing keeping me sane this summer. I really do miss my friends in Reno, I left my whole life there to begin a new one here. I know though in the end everything will work out wonderfully so I cant sit here reminiscing for to long.
I really want all of you who are following my flickr to know that without your supportive comments and messages I wouldn't have nearly the ammount of motive and passion for this wonderful hobby of mine. Thankyou so so much and I love all of you with every ounce of my heart.
I would also really like to thank all of you who voted for my pictures in Ron Howards Project Imagination competition because without you I wouldnt have been able to become a finalist for the I can't thank you guys enough times to express my gratitude towards you.
More In Comments From This Week!
A rare occurrence this week with an actual picture of me (!) and Paddy & Smudge . A few days lightweight camping with a friend in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands (hence the photograph!). Cool nights in a lightweight sleeping bag but no bother for me with two hot dog water bottles :) Paddy throughly enjoyed that ... I daresay with Smudge it was a toss up between the 20km a day walkies, the red deer blarting outside the tent at night, the red deer running across the hillsides in great numbers in visible daylight and the dad cuddle ... I daresay it was probably the deer ! (in the photo you can see he was in his constant 'deer spotting mode' :)) [Oh .. and I'm not wearing a kilt .. just shorts! :) ]
my favorite from Week 2
I didn't even get my film that I ordered until Thursday, and that was jam-packed, I went on a photoshoot with Leah and John and I ended up using all 36 exposures, so all of these shots are from Friday.
This week, Delaware County held its annual county fair. It was cancelled last year, and the grandson was really looking forward to going this year. Often we all go, some to watch the souped-up mighty tractors and some to see the animal, vegetable and flower exhibits.
Alas - with the COVID variant spreading, it was deemed too risky to go to such a crowded event this year.
So we held our own fair! Everyone entered vegetables they had grown, and Chris and I made flower exhibits. She then went all-out and made funnel cakes and other goodies that people like to eat at fairs. The model tractor collection came out, and Chris found videos of tractor pulls to watch after dinner. Grandpa [my hubby], exhibited some old farm tools and told stories of his younger days on the farm. And a good time was had by all!
Standing on a bridge with the view of one of our newest bridges, the city and our South Bank precinct. Love my River City.
Went to take a walk at Dovers Hill today as it is a beautiful place! Unfortunately, I am VERY selective about apps so no more walks here. Very sad.
week 9 / 52 :
I should start buying some equipment like lights and a flash... not much natural light available here during winter
