Was sitting quietly on the lookout for squirrels, wondering where they all were, turned around and saw this wee guy right behind me.

Cute wee Turnstone well disguised on the machair if it wasn’t for his bright orange feet!

Vanaf de plek waar ooit station Oostzaan lag aan de Hoornse lijn een blik over het oude veenlandschap van Oostzaan.

Grateful 2 get a capture of this wee beauty this morning

**there is still a war going on in Ukraine. do what you can to help.

the same with the fires in Maui and the hurricanes on the US southeastern coast. I know many of us are overburdened with trying to help....do your best.

The Malachite Kingfisher is the tiniest and the most colourful of all the kingfishers. An adult fully grown Malachite Kingfisher only measures 14cms from beak to tail.

It is pretty common and found near water bodies and is normally seen diving into water to catch tiny fish.

Photographed on boat ride in Lake Naivasha from the Elsamere Nature Conservation Centre, Kenya.

The cutest little hygrocybe I've seen in a while - either conica or punicea, I can't tell the difference sometimes. 11-image stack. IRL it's less than 1 inch high.

This young goat was bleating for her supper when she saw me admiring her. I think she's a year old, and is just growing her horns. She was much smaller when I last visited Drumlin Farm.

The length of this wee ladybug is about 3.75 to 5.0 mm.

An adult will eat about 300 medium-size aphids before it lays eggs.

Regarding that photo of a ladder I posted recently, up in that alcove were a few sheep glyphs. I have to admit, this is one of the strangest places I've found rock art and certainly the strangest place I found a way to access them!

I sat down at the base of a large tree in the understory and this little understudy put on quite the act. I think he prefers the limelight. A real song and dance man!

Always the early starters for the year to come...

High upon the branches,

us tree folk like to go.

And just what we are saying,

only tree folk really know.

My friends and I know not why,

you all settle on the ground.

When you could live near heaven,

where the songs of birds resound.

Up in the hills are a couple of these tiny house labels tacked onto a stump. I am just going back over my October photos for other photos of interest

Out walking my nephews dog and came across this lovey wee burn in the middle of all the greenery.

Can anyone tell me what this wee bird is? Not a great shot but the closest I could get....

Original photo of water as u c it then sketched
