I think the spider looks like a robot.

I don't often find clouds interesting enough to photograph by themselves. This group at sunset on June 17th was an exception. It looked like a big portal opening up above.

The house is a little damp, said the spider to the fly.

Sometimes I think I try to gather the light. To hold on to those days of most light for those times of most darkness. It is the natural order of things, the way life cycles. But I like the light.

Maybe we hold on to that light through people. Or maybe through those moments of sheer beauty in the little nook of the back patio where the spider sleeps.

The first triangle web spider, Hyptiotes cavatus, that I have seen in years! Two of them, actually, on a cliff face along Snake Road in the LaRue-Pine Hills Research Natural Area, Illinois, USA, on October 12, 2023.
