In the end, the beach turned out not to be the best place last night. It remained with a little threat and a single flash of light very far away at sea! The air was fantastic, the tension almost unbearable, and the relief enormous when we were safely back in the car.

Yellow warning of thunderstorms:

Some places are likely to see severe thunderstorms on Monday - but there is significant uncertainty in location and timing.

A stormy day at the beach made even more stormy with textures.

All from the new Summer painterly Flypaper pack.

Uploaded to prevent me playing with it for several more hours :-) Have a good Thursday everyone, ours is almost finished.

We put an electric heater and a water bowl on our patio. I keep warm water in the bowl and the birds are sure enjoying it. Not a very good picture through the class and a screen.

Our area is not prepared for the weather we are having.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentines.

This is a fair weather waterspout, the photo was taken at sunrise at Panama City Beach, FL. There are 2 kinds, the other one is a tornadic waterspout which is associated with Cumulonimbus clouds and causes more damage. This one comes from a row of Cumulus clouds. Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week.

A strong storm system followed me home but there was a break in the clouds once I got to Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore

I guess it is just human nature to believe that blue skies and bright sunshine make for the best memories. Any photographer can tell you that a cloudless sky is not very interesting in the final result, that direct sunlight can blow out an image, and that storms create the greatest impact and depth. The truth is that much like photography, enduring life’s storms are where memories are made, where true beauty is found, where we add depth and understanding, and hopefully we stretch and grow.

Lovely displays of flowers at Lee On The Solent. When these come out I know warmer weather is on the way.😊

October 17th, rain all day - 10C - still sitting out for 5:00 wine time - bundled up. Almost 6:00 pm - still raining and the sun decided to make an appearance and graced us with this rainbow. Love sitting out before dinner.

When I woke this morning, I made the mistake of reaching for my phone and watching the video of Jacob Blake's shooting and the resulting protests that turned to riots. These are such turbulent times and there is still so much of a need for a call for unity. Who is it that has the voice and leadership who can help heal this nation? I want to have hope that we can get through this and come out better but time will tell. All we can do now is VOTE!
