The path between the falls of High and Low Force on the south side of the River Tees is part of the Pennine Way, the long distance footpath which traverses the spine of the country between Edale in Derbyshire and Kirk Yetholm just over the Scottish border.
Its whole length is ca 270 miles (430km) and when you get here (usually walking south to north towards the camera), you are getting towards the halfway point.

Oh, Father tell me, do we get what we deserve?
Whoa, we get what we deserve
And way down we go
Way down we go
Say way down we go
Als die Pferde das Mädchen kommen sahen, waren sie erkennbar erfreut. Sie wussten sofort, dass sie nach Hause sollten. Den Weg kennen sie.
The scene made me think of 'The Horse Whisperer' with Robert Redford. When the girl appeared, the horses were visibly delighted. She didn't call and didn't give a sign. The horses knew immediately that they should go home.
"Her colors change to mark the passing of the days
No Earthly sight can match the beauty she displays
And when I die I want her lying by my side
In my grave... in my grave"

Happy Friday!
Based on some feedback and my warped sense of mind, here is my version of my Oculus capture taken on the coast of Oregon, and combining it with one of my captures there at Crater Lake (technically all happened in Oregon, therefore it stays in Oregon ..)
Took the image posted below and converted to B&W, then applied a small amount of warming tint to simulate the full moon light spilling over the scene, and then took the night sky from Crater Lake and made that into the sky through the rock openings.
Thoughts ... if someone lives out there, this could be a fun capture to try for real, but need some moonlight, stars, and low tide!!!! all to happen at the same time ... with clear skies.
''People who are meant to be together will always find their way back. They may make a few detours, but they are never lost''
from deep in the archives, redone in B/W
this was 3 motor rebuilds, , two transmissions, one rear end, disc brakes all 4 corners, set of tires and rims, new chrome bumpers, front and rear suspension upgrades ago ....oh yeah, also when it had AC

I finally got my Milky Way shot over the Golden Gate bridge - using photoshop. Image shot from the Municipal Pier at Aquatic Park.
April 10th thru the 17th are some good dates to chase the Milky Way. It will be visible like this, as an arch between 10 and 55 degrees for about 4hrs. I plan to make the drive to darker skies - anyone want to join me?

The spring season is upon us, but another one has already started: Milky Way season.
It’s a time when the spectacular region of our galaxy, AKA the Galactic Bulge, is visible in the night sky.
“I've been shooting Milky Way images for almost a decade, and I still get very excited at the beginning of every new season,” astrophotographer Dan Zafra.
For the start of 2025, he ventured to Death Valley to capture his first images of the Milky Way core !!!

Milky Way core over Fortaleza Canyon.
This night photography section at Canion Fortaleza was one of the most technically challenging I have ever participated in. Due to the fog that covered the 900 meters deep of this Canyon, the humility of the air was so great that it fogged the lenses before the end of the captures. Getting images with the landscape well exposed was an arduous task but we managed to produce some beautiful images.

I never quite fit in to that Hollywood thing
I didn't play that game for the money or the fame~

Something for Nothing by RUSH:
Waiting for the winds of change,
To sweep the clouds away,
Waiting for the rainbow's end,
To cast its gold your way,
Countless ways,
You pass the days.
Waiting for someone to call,
And turn your world around,
Looking for an answer,
To the question you have found,
Looking for,
An open door.
You don't get something for nothing,
You can't have freedom for free,
You won't get wise,
With the sleep still in your eyes,
No matter what your dreams might be.
What you own is your own kingdom,
What you do is your own glory,
What you love is your own power,
What you live is your own story,
In your head is the answer,
Let it guide you along,
Let your heart be the anchor,
And the beat of your song.
My third try to capture the milky way. In Denmark we had one night without any clouds. So we went out and hike over the dunes and look at 1 million stars. So beautiful :-)
Have a nice friday!
My first time having a go at a stary night picture with the milky way. This was best of a bad bunch and not really edited that well.
How often you get to experience views like this? Thanks to my friends from Chicago’s Luxury Apartments at 73 East Lake St I was able to spent some quality time at this location . After the sunset and blue hour shoot I stayed a bit longer to capture some of the evening glow. Since it wasn’t easy shooting on this freezing temperatures, I had to spend rest of the night warming up with some good vine and some single malt whiskey. All in all a great evening out spent the way I like it. What do you think?
In Furillen, you see all the SL photographers passing by.... I met Zigs Zags, and finally our long delayed decision to shoot a picture together came true.
I chose the place, Zigs made the poses , and there it is !
Under the magic tree, I seem to show him the place, way over yonder, where the dream of a better life seems possible...
