Kinks Waterloo Sunset Lyrics
Songwriters: DAVIES, RAYMOND DOUGLAS
Dirty old river, must you keep rolling
Flowing into the night
People so busy, makes me feel dizzy
Taxi light shines so bright
But I don't need no friends
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise
Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine
Terry meets Julie, Waterloo Station
Every Friday night
But I am so lazy, don't want to wander
I stay at home at night
But I don't feel afraid
As long as I gaze on Waterloo sunset
I am in paradise
Every day I look at the world from my window
But chilly, chilly is evening time
Waterloo sunset's fine
Millions of people swarming like flies 'round Waterloo underground
But Terry and Julie cross over the river
Where they feel safe and sound
And they don't need no friends
As long as they gaze on Waterloo sunset
They are in paradise
Waterloo sunset's fine

A slightly different perspective on London's ever changing skyline.
View looking east from the Hayward Gallery's Waterloo Sunset Pavilion towards Southwark with Tate Modern's brick tower on the left and London Bridge Station's Shard building on the right.
The building under construction in the centre is Blackfriars 240 - a 20 storey office complex on Blackfriar's Road designed by Alford Hall Monaghan Morris for developers Great Portland Estates. Work started on site about 12 months ago and the concrete lift towers are just beginning to make an impact on the skyline. For a view of how it will look when completed see the architect's website here:

33108 at Waterloo on the 0855 to Exeter. It was done to Salisbury for 47709 back to London in order to get back for E5001 out of Victoria.
From its opening on 14th November 1994 until 13th November 2007 this was where the Belgians and the French would emerge into Central London, and where the British would embark on their journey to the continent.
The last service to depart was the 18.12 (GMT) on 13th November 2007, headed for Brussels.
The next day Eurostar services would use their new, completely restored to its original glory, dedicated London Terminus of St Pancras International.
Just over 5 years after Waterloo International's closure, the station is still abandoned & sadly its deterioration can be seen by passengers using the adjacent Waterloo Domestic station.
