The beautiful emerald green of the moss can here only be found in May. One might think it's because of the ND- filters, but no, it's the dense green canopy of the forest here in the gorge. This is not the case in autumn and winter, then the color of the sandstone mountain range predominates here. I'm so glad, another photographer had the motivation to place the stick and stone, whitch looks like a skull, so photogenic. Maybe it was a hint - follow me, or something.

I thought it would be advisable not to do that ;-)), although I was very curious, because I don't like dullness. It'll be away with the next heavily rain, so not forever.

Happy Waterfall Wednesday everyone!

This is a really old shot of the American Falls at night-it was the first weekend I used a digital camera!

Thought I'd play Waterfall Wednesday again since Flickr has something against Bokeh Wednesday

Nah I'll upload another Bokeh one soon ;)

Maybe we should just have a No Contacts Wednesday?

Happy Waterfall Wednesday!

This image was shot in the very late Fall season in Ricketts Glenn State Park on a chilly and misty morning. I wish we could add sound to the images so you could hear how wonderful this sounded. Be sure to go check out www.flickr.com/photos/little-m/52488740785/in/feed-971231... to see a different angle on this scene. Little M does a great job getting down low for the composition.

"I love the sounds and the force of pounding water, whether it is the waves or a waterfall."

It was a beautiful day in the cascade gorge, like always the game, Greta vs slippery rocks ;-)

Happy Waterfall Wednesday , all!!

I only had one morning in the Gorge when I visited Oregon this summer and I am already itching to get back. I hit Wahclella Falls very early in the morning and the place to myself as scrambled around in the water trying to find a comp I liked. Let me know what you think, happy Waterfall Wednesday

Shot this from quite a distance. The falls themselves are 215 high. Near Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes region of NY.

Mastodon has designated photo days, which often has me browsing through older photos for something suitable to share. Today is #WaterfallWednesday, and this is an older photo I hadn't posted anywhere before.

It was taken a little downstream from the more spectacular Bald River Falls. While not as splashy, it was a mostly pristine (minus the graffiti) and out of the way location - exactly the sort of thing I love to photograph.

Happy Waterfall Wednesday my friends!

This is another beautiful waterfall you can find in Silver Falls State Park.

We came back with my kids and this time we saw four waterfalls.

We have still 6 more for a next trip.

The cascade in the gorge isn't very large, but it's beautiful. I love this place. I'm probably crazy, but the silky, slightly colored water flow reminds me of - Les Brumes d'Avalon -.

I wish you all a happy Waterfall Wednesday!

That day I had taken my best friend's little daughter to the Cascade Gorge. We saw the stepped section as the gorge progressed. I said: Leonie, if I expose wrong here, then we have a great story. "Pierce the white ghost." Little Leonie said: "Greta, if you want to tell me fairy tales, then do it properly!" Oh oh, I thought, what's next. Leonie started to tell:

- Once upon a time in the land of giants. One of the less evil giants loved to drink his water with milk. Since there were no spoons to stir, the giant used a fallen tree trunk and was able to stir his milky water.-

We laughed a lot and as you would expect, I exposed imperfectly and we had our story, one way or the other!

I hope you liked it, even if the giant was hiding in the shallow bushes ;-)))

What can I say; Life is a fairy tale, right? Darth Vader comes much later, Carl. Did I say Carl? :-)

Happy Waterfall Wednesday everyone!

Press L and look around

I spent the last 5 days wandering around the woods of Northeast Pennsylvania hiking and shooting fall color since we were robbed of our Autumn in Washington State due to fires, drought, smoke and overall climate change devastation that is threatening to take all that we have in the PNW. But I had to have an Autumn. As some of you know, Fall is my thang:) I pretty much put all of my photography eggs into one Fall Color Basket. So, there was no way I was letting the apocalyptic weather in Washington take Fall from me. I had to hike up and down some of the steepest and rockiest and slipperiest terrains to get my fix. And my legs fell off around mile 5 on the "back up" the trail. But I persevered. So we will call this little Beauty, "Perseverance Falls" ~ Happy Waterfall Wednesday! (I told ya'll I'd be back:)

Since it's a wee bit nippy outside I thought this would be a good day for something taken during a long cold spell we had back in 2013. Set The Wayback Machine for December 7, 2013 Sherman, Snoqualmie Falls. #waterfallwednesday

Hundru Falls, Ranchi

This is not much of a waterfall to admire in December as water was less compared to rainy season . Located about 45 km away from the city. Access to the waterfall is ardous as one has to climb down and climb up a flight of 1100 stairs. Its extremely tiresome doing the flight of stairs.

A late entry for Waterfall Wednesday...

Jean Day and I wanted to shoot Rainbow falls at sunset and also get some star shots. We had to drive down to the San Joaquin river early in the morning and spend the entire day...no problem there, It's such a beautiful area. Just before sunset, the clouds moved in behind the falls, blocking possible star shots. For quite a while, it even looked like the sunset would be a dud...then suddenly the color started to spread and it turned out pretty nice. We waited a bit to see if it would clear for the star shots, but no luck this time :-(

Oneida Falls at Ricketts Glen SP where I will be again next Autumn after my Grand Tetons Workshop with Candace Dyar. There is no place like Ricketts in the Fall if your a photographer who has a "thang" for waterfalls and autumn colors. It's the Disneyland of Waterfalls. My friend Chris Byrne and I spent a very wet day shooting these gorgeous falls and went home soggy but happy:) Happy #WaterfallWednesday from little m:)

A little waterfall we found while exploring the Pacific Northwest.

Happy to see Wahclella Falls again after the trail was re-opened on August this year after 2 years closure due to Eagle Creek Fire (Sep 2017).

There are still a lot of trees and vegetation recovering after the fire but Nature is still beautiful and it's showing it off like these Falls.

Thanks to all that work hard to make this trail ready again for us.

Here is a little mossy goodness from a spot Aaron took me to visit during our waterfall outing. Hope everyone has a happy hump-day and has great plans for the weekend!

Had quite the adventure with Oh Greg last Saturday ~! Including a fun little rope climb/slide/drop- ouch! to the base of Panther Falls.

Such a jaw dropper...she is monstrously exquisite:)

Oh, and Oh Greg~ my tripod misses you :p

The rock in the middle of the waterfall looks a bit like a lost Darth Vader, ha ha ha. If it were the real Darth Vader, the 'machine would probably burst with sparks. Of course, it could also be King Kong, who is very thirsty, right?

For those who haven't seen the mysterious rock yet, there is a closer view in the first comment.

Happy Waterfall Wednesday, all! xo

Thanks for taking the time to look at my photo, I really appreciate it!

If you scramble down slippery and crumbling rocks, from the viewpoint on the left towards the bottom of the paved path, you can get some awesome angles looking up. This is a crop, as I need to do some more work on the sky in the full frame. Hope you enjoy, let me know what you think!

Oh, I'm glad we finally got snow. Today I spent a nice day in our beautiful Rhön Biosphere Reserve. Actually I thought it was utopian, that we would get snow this year. Because the last few years we haven't had any snow in December. But this year everything is different anyway. Isn't it not so?

Stay healthy and have a nice evening!

Posting this one for my friends Matt Cedergren and Robin Black who encouraged me to indulge my affinity for a unique image and to think outside the box. :) Appreciate you both!

And for my dear friend Oh Greg who took me here and that was AFTER I nearly drove us over a canyon :p

Happy Waterfall Wednesday! Here is a more moody long exposure from the lookout platform at Tumalo Falls. The overcast conditions created some soft even light, and really helped the greens pop in this lush area. This river had some serious force! Hope you enjoy!

In celebration of my birthday today, and in recognition of the ever popular hashtag #waterfallwednesday I wanted to share one of the first waterfall images I ever captured.

Brasstown Falls in the Upstate of South Carolina is a multi-tiered waterfall, comprising three large main sections and ends in a natural sluice before continuing along Brasstown Creek.

During this trip several years ago the trailhead was quite wet and muddy, and traversing down the hillsides to this section of the falls was a bit of a challenge.

I have recently read that the trails have since been revamped and now allow for much easier access, so I am quite looking forward to returning here for some more shots in different seasons and compositions.

That said, I hope you will enjoy this image and that this finds you doing well and staying safe.

Thank you for looking, and God Bless!
