Kokerei Hansa Waschkaue
Die Kokerei Hansa ist eine von 17 in den 1920er Jahren entstandenen Zentralkokereien im Ruhrgebiet. Aufgabe der Anlage war das Produzieren von Koks aus Kohle, das bei der Stahlverhüttung benötigt wird. Zu ihrer Zeit gehörte sie zu den größten und modernsten Kokereien in Europa.
The Hansa coking plant is one of 17 central coking plants that were built in the Ruhr area in the 1920s. The task of the plant was to produce coke from coal, which is required for steel smelting. At the time, it was one of the largest and most modern coking plants in Europe.
Lots of miles today, but decided to post this picture while I have a strong 4G LTE signal. Right now I'm at the rest area in Nevada at the junction of I-80 and US-95. Heading south on US-95 and not likely to have internet when I shutdown in a few hours. So, I apologize in advance for possibly not being able to see your new pictures this evening. Well, gonna post this now and get rolling, three more hours of driving ahead.
This picture was taken near the top of Mount Ashland. Decided to use my 50mm prime rather than a zoom lens. Much more difficult because I had to position myself and camera/tripod rather than zoom in or out. The rocks were much more slippery than I'd thought, so I tried to avoid stepping on them as I waded up and into to spots I wanted to shoot from. I worked my way up this to take a few pictures nearer the top.
I posted the other shot while on location. This shot is of the falls a bit below the other. Here's a link to the picture taken above this shot for comparison.

My problem with adverts at the beginning of films is that I get bored. If there is more than one advert, I do not have the patience to wait, often to even skip through them. I go off the film. I decide that, actually, I would rather watch something without adverts. I have been known to get through all of the adverts only to turn the film off because I can now not focus on the film.
Did you know that though Steve Jobs said that he wished it was, the Apple logo was not a homage to Alan Turing, but the apple merely had a bite take out of it so that it was not mistaken as a cherry?
I knew the neighbours washing would liven up the shot, but did not expect this.....for the record, colours have not been adjusted!
Floris has quite a job to wash all that long hair. But he is also washing the others,On the second shot he is helping Jasmijn.
Housing along the khlongs in Bangkok is usually pretty rudimentary. I imagine that they are pretty unpleasant places to be located as many of them have an indescribable smell
