I was amused at the small puddle and a rather unnecessary warning cone.
Call before you dig. And watch out for rattle snakes.
The snake warning is mine as I heard one rattling in the bushes just after I shot this. Checked my path carefully as I hauled ass back to my van.
We came across several Black Vultures feasting on some roadkill, perhaps a feral hog by the looks of it.
Got my old camera for these shots as it gives a warmer tone, the down side is the orb caused by a slight chip on the lens. Oh well nothing to worry about.
Had my eye brows done by my daughter so they are a little tamer now . Think we take a little more off next time.
Ok so what warning i hear you all asking! Well the warning is for the next post, its a little video that might get one or two of you a little over heated It might not but it probably will.
In the meantime you will have to put up with this .

It has been an excellent start to the 2016 chase Season. Bonus was, that I had the day off and no commitments except for storm chasing. I was set for an Epic Day!
I ended up with well over 700 pic from this storm chasing event, but I've skimmed it down to about 100+. Truly this will become some of my best severe weather photography to date...
I was seriously late the game on this storm. But I was never out of the game. I had now positioned myself just to the North of Wray Colorado.
Strategically, you want to be to the south east, southwest for the best light... It's all about timing, and I thought it wouldn't produce till it was well west of my location. Giving me that perfect view of the backside rotation of the storm.
In my opinion, I found a perfect view, looking due south southeast. I ended up on the northwest side of the rotation. Dangerous yes...but this will eventually give me one excellent view of this tornado and all her glory.
Here is the official NWS report for this tornado Click Here!

We saw this coming as the temps rose into the mid some very muggy mid 70's by mid day, feeling like 82F!
I watched what I believe was a shelf cloud form to our north & west from our front porch in the late afternoon towards Lake St. Clair.
No rain as it passed overhead, typical, but then we were hit hard as expected soon after it went by. No damage locally although there were tornado warnings issued for parts of our region.
The photo in the lower left was snapped earlier in the day in the opposite horizon to the south & east looking towards Lake Erie.
Mount Warning, near Murwillumbah, New South Wales, Australia. Named by Captain Cook and used by sailors as a navigation aid, it's not close to the coast, but it can easily be seen from it. Known as Wollumbin by Aboriginals, meaning cloud catcher. Clouds can often been seen 'caught' on the peak. Great views from the top.

I don't particularly like looking at pictures of predation. I'm not good with blood and guts.
But I don't want to only post pictures of pretty bugs and birds.
I want to record what happens in their lives if I'm lucky enough to see it.
Sparrowhawks have taken birds from my garden before but it's usually a hit and run. This is the first time I've witnessed it being comfortable enough to eat it on the fence.
Every scrap of this Goldfinch apart from feathers, was eaten. Nothing wasted.
It was gruesome and not pleasant but I was captivated watching this bird doing something so simple and so natural as eating a meal.
On one of our last days in Newfoundland a couple of years ago, the stark loneliness of the Tablelands was emphasized when a rainstorm drove through. Locals had given us a warning the weather was changeable and told stories of men lost at sea, heroic efforts of taking a pregnant woman for help by horse through the valley in a snowstorm, and how David Suzuki once had a meal at the Seaside Restaurant in Trout River. This area was one of the highlights of our trip.
Dawn this morning.
As the saying goes: "Red sky in morning, sailor’s warning. A red sunrise can mean that a high pressure system (good weather) has already passed, thus indicating that a storm system (low pressure) may be moving to the east. A morning sky that is a deep, fiery red can indicate that there is high water content in the atmosphere. So, rain could be on its way."
It was raining by 2.30pm.
