Une photo prise du bord de la route, un gros vol de grues est passé au dessus de ma voiture et je n'ai pu me garer qu'imparfaitement en mettant les warning .....L'APN étant toujours présent sur le siège passager, le choix du cadre est aléatoire !
Second photo of the Bush Stone Curlew saying keep your distance as things are about to happen soon.
This shows the beautiful markings of these birds.
The future siblings are over her left shoulder in the garden mulch.
Despite its dishelved look, this EC-121K still looks great. Saved by the Yankee Air Museum, at the request of the US Navy, when the Chanute museum closed in 2015, it will be fully restored and exhibited in the museum's new hanger at Willow Run. The aircraft, S/N 4435 B/N 141311, was delivered in 1956 to VW13 at Patuxent River where it served until 1965. It was then off over to Pt. Mugu, California, where it flew missile tracking flights until its retirement in 1979. In 1983 it was flown into Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois and was displayed at the museum until its closure.
Instead of High Surf warning, it should be Men Wearing Banana Hammock. Which is the first thing we saw as we walked in. This was taken at Hanalei Bay. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanalei_Bay I will be slowly coming back on line next week. Until then, peace. B
Here is an unseasonable as well as unreasonable warning about poisonous snakes near our home. Temperatures last night hit minus 15C so there's no chance of seeing any snakes poisonous or not these days. I do appreciate the authorities' attempt to trivialize the problem with a friendly green snake with a cigar in his mouth! I spend almost every day hiking in the woods surrounding our area and have only seen one snake in ten years! So how pressing could the problem be?
In the very breezy conditions yesterday at Seaford Head I saw this chap and his girlfriend perched crazily on the edge of the unstable cliffs overlooking Hope Gap. They had passed the warning signs and walked round the fence to take some pictures. There have been numerous cliff falls here and with the recent winter rain they are very dangerous. That's not even considering the blustery conditions in evidence yesterday afternoon.
Fortunately I was able to warn them and get them to move back and they were appreciative as they had not realised the danger, not being local. Phew....
Viewed large, this is even more scary as you can see a subsidence hole behind where the chap is standing.....

During nesting periods, birds can be quite defensive of their nests ... and the osprey are no exception. This particular adult was sitting on its new nest, its mate having just left to do some fishing in the waters nearby. Fast forward, here comes a vulture who decided that it would challenge the osprey. As part of its defense of the nest, it raised its wings, yelling at the intruder. It eventually took flight in pursuit of the vulture and soon after, its mate came flying in and took over the escort out of the area. Safely back at the nest, it checked its surroundings there and settled back in.
It was fascinating to us that a vulture would actually try to approach the nest with one of the parents occupying it. By now, those parents have raised their young and they've fledged and on their own. Until next year ....
Thanks for stopping by to view.

So many decorations everywhere. It was a dry night so I am sure all the kids were very happy about it. Now it is November and maybe some of you are already think about Christmas !!!!
J'aime bien les promenades dans mon quartier et admirer les décorations de l'Halloween. Une soirée sans pluie, C'était parfait pour les jeunes et moins jeunes.
Warning sign near Christina's place, I have a weird sense of humor so this makes me smile whenever I see it.
. . At the top of Sleeping Bear sand dunes there is a warning about climbing down the dune to Lake Michigan, and then not being able to climb back up 450 feet of sheer sand. Get the checkbook out then . . .
Have a great week Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!

On the hunt for Severe Weather after about a month off of chasing. Though, always prepared and ready to go on another storm chasing adventure, once the storm models look favorable I was off to Eastern Colorado!
Early afternoon we encountered the first severe storm cells by Akron and Otis Colorado! We were traveling southbound via Hwy 61! Hot & humid, with the lower level jet playing into the game we were ready for mother nature to do her thing!
