Seen across Seaforth docks. Never mind a sign warning of the dangers of swimming or paddling ~~~~~ have you seen the cloud @ left horizon? Is that like a terrifying nuclear "mushroom" or what?
(That's exactly how it was, btw. No tricks, no photoshopping, no tampering, no trickery, no manipulation, absolutely no nothing. Just a plain old ordinary, unadulterated photo of old mother nature playing tricks. Or was she just warning us about something, with a sign of her own?)

This Black Bear, whom I was observing last week, and I were having a serious moment. We'd been watching each other for five or 10 minutes, when he decided it would be prudent to fire a warning shot in my direction.... He suddenly swatted a bush in front of him and hissed loudly at me. A bear's sharp, deep-throared hiss is something that instantly gets your attention.
Interestingly, I've never seen a Bear growl ( well. once, when a bear was having an argument with my dog a few feet frm my tent, while I had been trying to sleep, but .. I only heard that, I didn't see it...) It seems they rarely growl, at least in this part of the world, but I have been loudly hissed at a couple times, and it leaves an impression.

I guess that this school warning sign is triggered automatically. Very little traffic to warn and nothing going as fast as 20mph anyway.
As you hike along the Kalalau trail, you will come upon a warning sign for Hanakapi'ai beach down below. Seen in previous photo. This is one of the most dangerous beaches in the world.

I took this photo just around the corner from my house (I live in a scary area!). I used just about everything to make this page: hand carved stamps, a print from embossed wallpaper, acrylic paint, acrylic ink, and a little bit of collage.
The timing of this Nudge was great: I'd just bought some photo-paper stickers and was itching to try them out!
