In 1963, Frisch's Big Boy purchased this property and built a restaurant. It appears the restaurant was rebuilt around 1985. In 2008, the Big Boy restaurant was demolished for a Walgreens store. Walgreens #12595 was built in 2008 / 2009 and finally opened in 2009. The Walgreens reused the old Frisch's Big Boy sign.
This store's lease was supposed to continue until 2034 but the store shut down in late 2015. It is hard to tell why this store was shut down. Perhaps sales were slow. Another possibility is that there is another Walgreens one and a half miles down the road; maybe the company felt they were too close together. A third possibility could be that Walgreens closed this location to help secure their Rite Aid acquisition deal.

This Walgreens seems to be rebranding itself as a British pharmacy chain called "Boots"... More info will come, as I find it.

This location was built and opened in 2003 and closed on March 9th, 2020. It became a Dollar Tree in July 2021.
The site originally housed Gulf Majik Market, which opened in the late 1970s. It became a Chevron in the late 1980s.

It was a nice walk in Atlanta at night before the rain picked up and utterly destroyed my Japanese umbrella. I was happy to call it a night shortly after that.

Thought you all would find this interesting. Remember the old Walgreens in Hebron IN from last month around this time? Well, during a closet clean out, I found this. This is from the old Walgreens in Hebron that I posted a picture of before.
The Walgreen's Drug Store at 900 Canal Street in New Orleans was built in 1938 and was designed by Weiss, Dreyfous and Seiferth, also known for their work on the state capitol building, Charity Hospital and the Jung Hotel just down Canal Street. I believe the historic neon has been replaced with an LED sign. If so, it would appear to respect the spirit of the original, if not exactly all of the the magic.
