WWII memorial sculpture by Marisol Escobar. Based on the sinking of a merchant marine vessel by a Nazi U-boat; the Germans photographed their drowning victims. This sculpture was fashioned from the photo and stands in the water off Battery Park.
Emmett Jackson was a combat engineer who located and disarmed German mines. He served on the front line during the Battle of the Bulge and crossed the bridge at Remagen while it was still under fire. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He is also the author of Combat Diary; his story told in his own words. Emmett spoke about these experiences at the Friendswood Public Library.
At the end of the exhibition/airshow, some Nazi and US soldiers reenacted a battle during WWII, complete with a B-25 'dropping bombs'!

WWII Stuart tank converted for farming. These light tanks were sold new in Albury NSW after WWII for ten dollars each. The sale price included a spare engine and second set of tracks.
