It may look large for a reclining Buddha, but this statue approximate 27 to 30-metre length doesn't even comes close to the biggest reclining Buddha in the world: 180-metres long and 30-metres high at Win Sein Monastery, Myanmar (details at: dailytravelpill.com).

The Nicholson Bridge is one of the most incredible rail bridges ever constructed. It was considered the 9th Wonder of the World upon completion in 1915 and still stakes a convincing claim to that today. The Nicholson Bridge, also known as the Tunkhannock Viaduct measures in at 2375 feet long, and 240 feet tall from the bottom of Tunkhannock Creek, with an effective height of 300 feet when you measure the structure to bedrock. It was created as part of the Nicholson Cutoff, an engineering solution to the brutally rugged landscape in this region of Northeastern PA. As the anthracite coal industry, once the energy backbone of this nation, ramped up, the Delaware, Lackawanna, and Western Railroad needed a rail line that could quickly and safely carry this product to market in New York City, and other major industrial centers.

Today is my son's birthday, he loved (and his dad too) to play it with Matchbox cars and other brands.
My son has a pretty nice collection.

The small but very photogenic North Rustico Harbour Light on the north coast of Prince Edward Island in Canada. Normally I hate the sight of power lines but they make an excellent pattern in this shot.
This one was tough to get to, but it was worth it. Something really special about being this high up early in the day when the city is this empty. Nikkor -O 35 f2.
This corner is my photo test bench. Any time I get something new or get some idea about using a bit of gear I haven't picked up in a while, a picture of the lamp happens first. I can't honestly say why but I must have a couple of hundred shots of the lamp and laptop. Tonight I pulled out a Canon FD 50mm f1.4 and decided to make a composition with it. Shot at f1.4.
Just back from a trip to Portugal with my lady. Seen this opportunity shot as she had a nap and I was pacing ready to go exploring Lisbon. Spent a week in the Algarve Beach Area then off to Porto. Spent the last three days central Lisbon as we topped off the trip and prepared to come back to Atlantic Canada and 1 degree Celsius.
