I'm on a weekend trip to Fredrikstad, there is absolutely no snow here.
And I realized that morning to light is difficult to catch.
After the rain I drove up to the top of Prefumo Canyon Road again, I knew it would be spectacular. And it was with all the clouds and light. Several cars stopped and we all oohed and awed at the stunning view. One couple was from Canada and the other was from Southern California. It was a great shared experience.
Searching for nectar in a small world all of its own. Have a good week and I shall be back to normal tomorrow :)

The world of swallowtails are the wildflowers in natural meadows. I hope to discover and photograph some again this year. Until then, the archive will have to serve.

I believe this is a Baird's Old World Swallowtail although there are other species that are quite similar. Other shots show it better but this Swallowtail has considerable black on its forewing close to its body. I have never seen one like this before.
